The Computer Applications department at SMIT was established in the year 2001.The courses offered here are Bachelor of Computer Applications(BCA), Master of Computer Applications(MCA), 5 years integrated BCA-MCA ,PG Diploma in RS/GIS and PhD programmes in computer applications.The department produces application graduates and specialists with high level of competence acclaimed by industry and acad

emia the world over. Ratika Pradhan the department has a total strength of more than 250 students taught,trained and supervised by 16 highly qualified and experienced faculty members. The department boasts 8 world class state-of-the-art-laboratories:AC lab,BC lab,CA lab,PG & R lab,Robotics lab,Networking lab,OS lab and RS/GIS lab.Besides the huge college central library the department also owns a departmental library with around 1500 books for facilitating academic and research.

From July 2014 Onwards, Department of Computer Applications has introduced a new course - FIVE YEARS INTEGRATED MCA with - Lateral entry to 7th Semester for the inspiring BSc(IT)/BSc(Computer Science) and BCA students.
Lateral entry to direct 2nd year(3rd Semester) MCA is also permitted based on availability of seats.
