A Blessed Visit and a Day of Great Merit at Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Diyun

On 17th August 2026, Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Arunachal Branch, Diyun, was deeply blessed by the gracious visit of Venerable Guru Bhanteji and Venerable Bhikkhu Panyarakkhita Bhanteji.

During their visit, the Venerable Bhantejis interacted with the monks and spent valuable time visiting Mahabodhi School, where they met and interacted with the students.

Venerable Guru Bhanteji and Venerable Bhikkhu Panyarakkhita Bhanteji Incepted the new school building, which has been generously donated by Upasaka Accho Pala and Upasika Ane Juttha. Venerable Guru Bhanteji expressed his happiness and gratitude upon seeing this meaningful development, which will provide better educational opportunities and a brighter future for children in this remote area.

The children of Mahabodhi Rita Girls' Home and Mahabodhi Boys' Home, together with all the staff of Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Diyun, also had the precious opportunity to receive the blessings of the Venerable Bhantejis. On this auspicious occasion, they lovingly offered lunch to all the monks as an expression of respect, devotion, and gratitude.

In the evening, everyone gathered together at the temple for a Puja and Childrens and Staffs offered Chivara to Venerable Guru Bhanteji, making the occasion meritorious.

It was truly a blessed and memorable day, filled with Dhamma, devotion, generosity, and hope for the future. The visit of the Venerable Bhantejis will remain a cherished memory for the entire Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala family and the students of Mahabodhi School, Diyun.

May the merits of this noble occasion bring peace, happiness, wisdom, and prosperity to all beings.

Independence Day Celebration 2026

Mahabodhi School, Jyotipur, Diyun, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026 with great enthusiasm, patriotism, and joy.

The celebration was graced by our Chief Guest, Captain Arjun Yadav of 8th Assam Rifles, Dumba Camp, and our Guest of Honour, Mr. Shanti Kumar Chakma, Vice Principal, Mahabodhi School, Jyotipur, Diyun. We heartily thank both our esteemed guests for being present with the students, teachers, and members of the Mahabodhi family on this important occasion.

The programme began with the spirit of patriotism and national pride. Students who achieved ranks in the ITO (International Talent Olympiad) were presented with certificates and rewards in recognition of their hard work and achievements.

Our Chief Guest, Captain Arjun Yadav, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the students to love and respect the nation, remain disciplined, work hard, and become responsible citizens of India.

The celebration became even more vibrant with colourful patriotic songs, dances, and cultural performances presented by the talented students. Their energetic performances filled the atmosphere with pride, joy, and love for the nation.

A proud moment for Mahabodhi School, Jyotipur, Diyun, was winning the 1st Prize in the March Past competition held at Diyun General Ground, among the schools of Diyun Circle. This achievement reflects the students’ discipline, teamwork, dedication, and hard work.

The Independence Day celebration at Diyun General Ground became even more colourful as students from different schools came together and showcased their talents through **patriotic songs, dances, and cultural performances**.

It was truly a memorable day filled with patriotism, unity, discipline, talent, and the spirit of India.

🌸 Congratulations to Dr. Regina Chakma! 🌸

The Mahabodhi School, Diyun family is immensely proud to congratulate Dr. Regina Chakma on her appointment as a Lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), Thailand, one of the world’s leading Buddhist universities.

Dr. Regina Chakma was a residential student of the very first batch of Mahabodhi School, Diyun. After completing her schooling, she was awarded the Venerable Acharya Buddharakkhita Scholarship of the Maha Bodhi Society, through which she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Buddhist Studies from Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda, her Master’s degree from the International Buddhist College, Thailand, and her Ph.D. from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. Her doctoral thesis was titled “An Application of Buddhist Right Livelihood (Sammā-Ājīva) for the Promotion of Prosperity in a Changing Society.”

Since July 2026, she has been serving as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, MCU, teaching History of Buddhism and contributing to postgraduate courses in Mindfulness for Teaching and Buddhist Administration.

Dr. Regina’s journey from a residential student at Mahabodhi School, Diyun, to a university lecturer is a proud achievement for the entire Mahabodhi family and an inspiration to our students.

Celebration of the 37th Birthday of Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta

On 3rd August 2026, Mahabodhi Higher Secondary School, Jyotipur, Diyun, and Mahabodhi Maitri Mandala, Arunachal Branch, Diyun, joyfully celebrated the 37th Birthday of Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta with great devotion, gratitude, and happiness.

The celebration began in the morning with a heartfelt birthday cake-cutting ceremony, where students, teachers, and staff members gathered to offer their warm wishes and express their respect and appreciation to Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, prayers, and joyful moments as everyone came together to celebrate this special occasion.

To make the day even more meaningful, the teachers organized a friendly cricket tournament involving students and staff members. The matches created an atmosphere of excitement, teamwork, and sportsmanship, allowing everyone to celebrate the occasion with enthusiasm and unity.

The evening programme became the highlight of the celebration as the children of Mahabodhi Rita Girls' Home and Mahabodhi Boys' Home presented a beautiful cultural programme in honour of Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta. The children showcased their talents through melodious songs, graceful dances, and delightful performances that filled the gathering with joy and admiration. Their innocent smiles, heartfelt performances, and boundless enthusiasm made the celebration truly unforgettable.

Among the most cherished presents were the children's handmade birthday greeting cards, creative crafts, and thoughtful gifts lovingly presented to Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta. Every handmade creation reflected their love, gratitude, and deep respect, making these gifts far more precious than anything material. The heartfelt expressions of the children touched everyone present and created memories that will be cherished for years to come.

The celebration concluded with all the children, staff members, and the Mahabodhi family coming together to offer their sincere birthday wishes and prayers for Venerable Bhikkhu Sanghadatta's good health, long life, happiness, and continued success in guiding the noble mission of education, compassion, and service to humanity.

It was a truly memorable and joyous occasion, beautifully reflecting the spirit of unity, gratitude, loving-kindness, and the strong bond shared within the Mahabodhi family. Parents' Meeting Report

The Parents' Meeting was held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. under the chairmanship of the Vice Principal.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the Vice Principal, who extended a heartfelt welcome to all the parents and thanked them for their valuable presence.

The Principal then addressed the gathering and spoke in detail about the school's academic vision for the new session. He emphasized the importance of dedication, discipline, good manners, and consistent hard work in shaping students into responsible and successful individuals. He encouraged parents and teachers to work together to help every child become a better student and a good human being.

The Principal also informed the parents about the latest CBSE assessment changes for Classes IX, X, and XI. He explained that from this academic year, students must secure at least 33% separately in both internal and external assessments to pass the examination.

He highlighted that the overall development of a child depends greatly on the combined efforts of parents and teachers. The Principal gave special appreciation to the mothers, acknowledging their invaluable role in guiding their children, preparing them for school every day, and providing the support and care necessary for their growth and education.

Furthermore, he announced the dates of the upcoming examinations, discussed the school's weekly academic schedule, and informed the parents that an academic tour would be organized for the Class XII students. He encouraged parents to continue supporting their children by providing the necessary resources and motivation for their studies.

The Principal concluded his speech by conveying his best wishes to all the parents and expressing his sincere hope for the excellent academic performance and overall development of every student.

During the interactive session, several parents appreciated the academic system of Mahabodhi School, Diyun, stating that the school nurtures students from the very beginning and helps them grow into confident, disciplined, and outstanding individuals.

The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Headmaster, who expressed his sincere gratitude to all the parents for their active participation and continued support.
