Mithila paintings also known as Madhubani art is a style of painting practiced in the Mithila region of India and Nepal.
In one of the stories, King Janak of Mithila asked women of the land to document lord Ram and Devi Sita s wedding and the Bidai or the seeing off the bride, which led to the practice of mithila paintings.

The Karbi community is the principal indigenous community in the Karbi Anglong district and West Karbi Anglong district of the Indian State of Assam.
