As part of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026, NIELIT Dimapur conducted an awareness session on Solid Waste Management (SWM) Rules, 2026 and 4-Way Source Segregation for its O Level students on September 18, 2026.

The session focused on creating awareness about responsible waste management, segregation at source, the 7Rs — Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Repurpose and Recycle — and the importance of collective responsibility in keeping our surroundings clean.

Students were also encouraged to look at waste management from a technology and innovation perspective, exploring how their IT skills can contribute to solutions such as smart bins, AI-based waste identification, computer vision, sensors, digital monitoring systems and route optimisation.

The programme aimed to encourage young learners to become active participants in the Swachhata movement and to understand that cleanliness is not only a responsibility of sanitation workers or authorities, but a shared responsibility of every citizen.

FREE NIELIT 'O' Level Admission for SC/ST Candidates

Applications are invited for admission to the NIELIT 'O' Level Course, sponsored by the Directorate General of Employment, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.

This one-year programme is designed to equip candidates with practical IT skills and improve employability through industry-relevant training.

Benefits of the Programme:
• Zero Course Fee
• ₹11,000 stipend during the course
• Hands-on training in Web Development, Python, IoT and IT Tools
• Government-recognised NIELIT Certification
• 18 Academic Credits through ABC/APAAR
