Great spiritual attainments are not paranormal abilities such as levitation, or manifesting objects out of space.

Great spiritual attainments are wisdom and compassion.

When a river goes through a wide valley, the flow of water is very weak. But where that valley narrows, the flow becomes powerful. Likewise, a scattered mind has very little power, compared to when it's in concentration. The greater the concentration, the greater the power of mind and any practice that it engages in.

~ Chamtrul Rinpoche

(The image is of the instructions for attaining shamatha, the very concentrated and powerful state of mind that is free from all mental wandering and dullness)

It is often said that every journey begins with a single step.
Likewise, the journey to becoming a buddha begins with bodhicitta. Without bodhicitta, it would be like looking at the top of the mountain, but never walking up it.

~ Chamtrul Rinpoche

(Often translated as the mind of enlightenment, bodhicitta is the compassionate wish to attain the enlightened state of a buddha for the benefit of all beings without exception)

If you want to experience happiness, cultivate compassion. The more you cultivate, not only will your level of happiness increase, but it will increase the conditions for others to experience happiness too.

As the great Indian master Shantideva once said:

“Whatever joy there is in this world, all comes from desiring others to be happy. And whatever suffering there is in this world, all comes from desiring myself to be happy.”

A king's robe or an old blanket can keep you warm.
A gold throne or the bare ground can be your seat.
A grand palace or a mud hut can be your shelter.
A jewelled plate or a wooden pot can hold your food.
The external world does not destroy your inner peace,
But your attachment and aversion will.

Please never underestimate the long-term consequences of your actions. For as long as you have the ignorant obscuration of grasping at an inherently existing “me”, that obscures the reality of emptiness, you will create karma for yourself.

No matter how far on the Buddhist path that you are, no matter how realised that you have become, no matter how many supernormal powers that you have attained, for as long as there is even a subtle trace of this ignorant obscuration, karma will be created.

Therefore, if you cause harm, with your body, speech, or mind, and if you do not purify that negative karma that you have created, it is guaranteed that you will suffer sooner or later.

That is why Padmasambhava, an enlightened being who was not even affected by karma, had skilfully told ordinary samsaric beings, “My realization is higher than the sky, but my observance of karma is finer than grains of flour.”

Every moment of your life provides an opportunity to practice, no matter where you are, or what is happening. Do not let practice become just something that is done in a dharma centre, or in front of a shrine, or on your meditation seat. But also let the whole world and all that you encounter within it become the training ground for your mind. The more that you do this, the faster you will move on the path to buddhahood, and the happier you will become on the way.

If you can understand that throughout beginningless samsara, all sentient beings have been your mother in the past, and each one of them has loved and cared for you, it will help you cultivate equanimity towards them all.

If you can also understand that ultimately all sentient beings are no different than you, as they too have buddha nature, and that they all want to be happy and never want to suffer, it will help you cultivate even greater equanimity.

By focusing on these deepest similarities, instead of focusing on superficial differences that drive you apart, equanimity will easily arise. It will feel like on the deepest level every sentient being without exception is an equal part of one big family.

The greater your equanimity, the greater your love and compassion towards them all, no matter who they are, no matter where they are, no matter what form that they have, and no matter whether you had previously considered them to be a stranger or even an enemy.
