ॐ नमः शिवाय
Om namah shivaya
It you mutter this mantra enough, as if you are sewing it into the root of you heart, tasting the soft sounds of the five syllables (panchakshara) as they land in your cells, you might feel it.
Om Na Mah Shi Va Ya
The fullness, the completeness. The absoluteness.
Actually it’s impossible to articulate into words. With the English language at least. Thought the great ta***ic agamas, the texts containing the transmissions from Shiva, dialogues between Bhairava and Bhairavi, discussing the nature of creation, of our existence, of the texture of our experience, the why and the how - they speak deeply to the layers and textures and patterns of consciousness that we are formed within. How can we remember our essence and be in the world, all at once ~ well, we discover that they are not separate and we become alchemists of the heart. Weaving spirit and matter. Celebrating the multiplicity and revealing the Oneness.
Tonight, in the dark moon portal, is the Great Night of Shiva. It’s a night when we can offer our whole being in great devotion and simply let the longing of our hearts spill over and the absolute light wake us up from the core. Sit quietly with your spine tall and bathe your inner world with the mantra. Let the mantra soak you in the bliss of Shiva’s all-pervasive completeness.
We are always saturated with Shiva and tonight the veils are thin and permeable so we can soak with more awareness that Shiva is not somewhere else outside of us. We can bow and pray to dissolve inside of ourselves to the absolute recognition of our unchanging essence. What a night to loosen any illusions that we are tired of holding onto. Offer them into the fire.
Om Namah Shivaya. I bow to the deepest unchanging eternal truth inside of my heart and throughout ALL.
