Public Awareness Campaign by *‘Students for Academic Justice’*
*Demand to recognize the PhD degree as a standard qualification in school education equivalent to the B.Ed*
The Students for Academic Justice organization held a discussion program on Monday at the University of Delhi. The purpose of the event was to launch a public awareness campaign regarding the demand to recognize the PhD degree as a standard qualification in school education, similar to the B.Ed degree.
During the program, members of the organization stated that they had already submitted a memorandum related to this new demand to the Ministry of Education and other senior officials through email. The organization is determined to run a nationwide awareness campaign on this issue in various universities across India in the coming days.
Members of the organization also shared that they will soon begin the process of personally submitting memorandums to the concerned ministers and officials. Along with this, they will also accelerate a series of seminars, symposiums, and student interaction programs on this subject.
Regarding this program, Dr. Surendra Kumar, Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Delhi, supported the initiative, saying: “This is not just an issue of students’ employment, but it will also provide research work with a new strengthened mindset and dignity.”

🌫️ Urgent Appeal to the University of Delhi Administration 🌫️
Dear friends,
The air quality across Delhi has reached severe levels, putting everyone’s health—students, teachers, and staff—at serious risk. Many of us are struggling with breathing issues, eye irritation, and constant fatigue due to the toxic air.
In light of this, Students for Academic Justice has officially written to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi, requesting an immediate shift of classes to online mode until the air quality improves.
This is not just a matter of convenience—it’s about health, safety, and academic justice. We urge the University to take proactive steps to protect its community while maintaining academic continuity.
Let’s stand together for a breathable campus and a safe learning environment. 🌱
