Stop Amendment of Rights of Person with Disabilities Act 2016!
Hello Everyone,
We need to fight the amendments that are being proposed by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, as it will leave the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 (RPwD Act) toothless! It will take away all accountability and responsibility that the government has to ensure, so that people with disabilities are treated equally in society. We need to come together and support the sector, regardless of affiliations to organisations, people and groups because this is an attack on years of work put in by many people, including my uncle Javed Abidi. We cannot let them dilute the RPwD Act of 2016. Period.
I am supporting this Joint Statement issued by NPRD (https://www.facebook.com/nprd.india/posts/3001320519975007?__tn__=K-R) and I would implore you to do the same. Please add your full name below using the google form which is attached in the message:
