MA Convergent Journalism at AJK Mass Communication Research Centre(MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia, on 28th Nov 2024 organised a session with guest speaker, Liz Mathew, Deputy Editor at The Indian Express on "Reporting politics and national politics".
The primary objective of the session was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of reporting on politics and governance. Mathew shared detailed insights from her experience of tracking political parties and national elections.

A delegation of ten journalists from ZIRO Arunachal Pradesh led by Sr Journalist Sh Bipin Sharma and coordinated by Shri Robin Hibu Spl Commissioner Delhi Police visited MCRC Jamia on 18th Oct. The team visited the facilities, interacted with the faculty and did hands-on for news production and reporting for TV, Radio and Digital news platforms. This was an outreach effort of MCRC to handhold journalists from the remotest, beautiful and important part of the country.

Every year, Canada celebrates CanFilmDay on April 17th. Award-winning Canadian films are screened worldwide from April 15th to 21st as part of the celebrations for CanFilmDay. York University and CIDA are amongst the founding partners of the AJK MCRC. The High Commission of Canada and the AJK MCRC will be screening the film Brother (2022), directed by Clement Virgo. An adaptation of David Chariandy's award-winning novel of the same name, the film centres on the relationship between two Jamaican-Canadian brothers growing up in Toronto in the early 1990s. The film won several accolades, including twelve Canadian Screen Awards at the 11th Canadian Screen Awards in 2023.
