The University shared "Celebrating Life with Colours" an exhibition of Photographs with Jayathi Saha, an Indian Photographer whose insight is to portray the life of Indian people that is symbolized through various festivals, and primarily use colours to represent their deities. Significance is that they were all natural and not underwent any editing.

International Folk Dance Festival 2015, Delhi,
15/11/2015
Our students went on a tour to Delhi from the 17th to 24th October in order to participate in the International Folk Dance Festival held at Kamani Auditorium. It was an astonishing moment for the students as well as the Unit, because it exposed avenues to students to showcase their talents while accrediting the characteristics of authentic Sri Lankan culture. They also got the opportunity to perform as Rabindranath Tagore Auditorium at Chandigarh at the invitation of the ICCR, Delhi and outdoor auditorium at Kullu marking the Dushera festival.

The young staff members hosted a group of Chinese University students who arrived at Sri Lanka as volunteers and wanted to have some cultural exposure. We were able to provide them an on site experience of Sri Lankan Authentic Dance, Music, Painting and Graffiti as well. They were so interested and enthusiastic in learning Sri Lankan culture and after all it was a very live and energetic program. They enjoyed and we enjoyed by sharing with them.
I believe that we need to promote such activities and generate understanding among communities because this is a "Global Village."
My thanks are to Mr. Harsha Buddhadasa of www.helpinghills.lk/ who invited us to usher these students, and to my colleagues Asitha, Dhananjaya, Dilkushi, Ranganatha, Niroshan, Hasari, Ruwan and Darshi (our loving girl) for making it a very successful event!!!
