Prayas: The Enabling Unit, Kirori Mal College hosted a highly informative workshop on 'Eating Disorders' in collaboration with FREED. The event took place in the college's Academic Auditorium starting at 12:30 pm.

Adwitiya is a talent show organized by the Commerce Association specifically for individuals with special abilities, where both talent and courage will be celebrated.
Over the past three years, Adwitiya has received enthusiastic responses from more than 350 students from various organizations
We cordially invite you to demonstrate your abilities at the event, which will take place within our college campus. Students will be given a window of 3 to 5 minutes to exhibit their skills. The platform is open to individuals with all kinds of talents to showcase their abilities at the event.

Prayas : The Enabling Unit in collaboration with the Centre For Disability Research and Training (CDRT), Kirori Mal College successfully conducted a sensitisation workshop in Seminar Hall of the college on the occasion of White Cane Safety Day.

We are grateful to Mr. Krishna Warrier from St Xavier's College, Mumbai who facilitated the workshop so nicely.

White Cane Safety Day is an annual observance held on October 15th to raise awareness about the independence and safety of individuals who are blind or visually impaired. It highlights the significance of the white cane as a symbol of mobility and independence, emphasizing the importance of respecting the right of visually impaired individuals to navigate the world confidently and safely.

Centre for Disability Research and Training (CDRT) in collaboration with Prayas - The Enabling Unit , Kirori Mal College is organising a sensitisation workshop on White Cane Safety Day which will give us an opportunity to experience the lives of visually impaired people.

Note : Everyone is expected to bring a handkerchief or a mask which would act as a blindfold with them. The visually impaired students are expected to bring their canes along, if possible more than one or two.

*"वर्ल्ड व्हाइट केन डे*, जिसे सफेद छड़ी सुरक्षा दिवस के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, पहली बार *1964 में अमेरिका में *राष्ट्रपति लिंडन बी जॉनसन* द्वारा मनाया गया था। यह पहला उत्सव सभी दृष्टिबाधित लोगों के अधिकारों के लिए उस लड़ाई का अनुसरण करता है जिसे नेशनल फेडरेशन ऑफ द ब्लाइंड ने 1960 के दशक में शुरू किया था।"

On September 21, 2023 Prayas - enabling unit of Kirori Mal College successfully conducted the induction ceremony of its newly recruited volunteers in the Seminar Hall.

The ceremony started with a heartily welcome, making all the volunteers familiar with the aim, objectives and functioning of Prayas.

It ended on a lighter note when recruits shared their interview experiences with all.

The team is set to work together and making progress together!

*Orientation Programme of "Prayas" - The Enabling Unit of Kirori Mal College*

On September 4 2023 at 11a.m. Prayas hosted an orientation session in the academic auditorium. The event got an interactive audience who participated with their full enthusiasm.

The stage showcased a variety of presentations, including sensitisation activity, poetry recitation, speeches, and awareness raising. Prof Someshwar Sati, the convener of Prayas, graced the event with his presence. Dr Anjali Priyadarshini and Dr Yamal Gupta were among the faculty advisors who attended the event.

*Purpose of the Orientation:*
- To highlight the significance of Prayas in terms of initiatives.
- To explain its workings and structure.
- To bring-in an interaction with PwDs.
- To enlighten attendees about the inclusivity in the campus.
- To give insights about the learning experience the unit has to offer.

The event concluded with words of appreciation from the Convener. He expressed his desire to witness such cheerful participation in the future.
