🏔️ The Day I Refused to Die | TEDx Rishihood University
“The fire you’re searching for is already inside you.”
It was an absolute privilege to deliver my second TEDx talk at Rishihood University last Sunday, titled “The Day I Refused to Die.” The energy and enthusiasm from the students were truly infectious.
My talk dove into the profound lessons learned when life throws you into an extreme, unplanned challenge—from surviving a devastating avalanche to the mental struggle of running out of oxygen on Everest.
The core messages I shared were forged through discipline at the NDA and endurance on the world’s highest peaks:
1. Consistency is Your Oxygen
You do not become extraordinary by being gifted. You become extraordinary by being consistent. The foundation for the summit is built in the quiet, lonely moments of work.
2. Courage Before Readiness
Life does not reward those who wait to feel prepared. It rewards those who start before they are ready. The accidental “yes” is often the trigger for your greatest achievements.
The Biggest Learning:
The most rewarding part of the day was not sharing my story, but interacting with the students, hearing their experiences, their questions, and the issues they are navigating. Their curiosity proves that the next generation is ready to conquer their own summits.
Go. Build it. Rise with it. Live your once so powerfully that it becomes enough.

Bengaluru, you were something special.
From our meetups at MyCore Gym and Hyfit Fitness Club to the Coffee & Run morning in Cubbon Park — the energy, the conversations, the mountain spirit… it all felt real.
We came to connect.
But we left inspired.
And yes — we also launched Altiedge website, our online high-altitude training platform.
Train smarter. Climb stronger. Prepare with purpose.
Thank you to everyone who showed up — climbers, first-timers, coaches, brand founders, and those who simply love movement and the outdoors.
This is just the beginning.
Next stops:
• Hyderabad – 15 Nov
• Delhi – 22 Nov
• Chandigarh – 23 Nov
• Mumbai – 29 Nov
• Pune – 30 Nov
• Kolkata – 7 Dec
If you want to be part of this growing mountain community, drop your city name below. We’ll DM you the meetup details.

Diwali came early this year — we celebrated it at 6,812 meters. 🏔️🔥
Our Ama Dablam (6,812 m) summit on 19th Oct — just a day before Diwali — was one for the books.
This was our third successful climb on this iconic peak, and what a journey it was!
We climbed before the season rush, and as most teams now begin their puja ceremonies, our teams are already home — mission complete.
For me personally, this climb tested every ounce of endurance and grit.
No Sherpa support, 6 hours at the top, battling extreme cold, wind, and hallucinations — even sharing ice with my Sherpas to stay hydrated.
It was raw, real, and deeply fulfilling.
This climb reminded me — limits exist only until you decide to push past them.
Huge thanks to our partners & team:

🏔️ History made 🇮🇳
Proud moment for all of us at Boots & Crampons ❤️
My friend, partner and co-founder Bharath Thammineni has just created history by becoming the first Indian to climb 9 of the world’s 8000-meter peaks, after summiting Mt Cho Oyu (8188m) — the sixth-highest mountain on Earth. 💪
His list now includes Everest, Lhotse, Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Manaslu, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Shishapangma and Cho Oyu.
Nine giants. One man. One unstoppable spirit.
Bharath’s journey is not just about climbing mountains — it’s about proving that limits exist only in the mind. His success is a reflection of pure dedication, humility, and the fire to represent India at the world’s highest places. 🇮🇳
At Boots & Crampons, this milestone means everything. What started as a passion project by two friends — an Army veteran and a dreamer from Kurnool — has grown into a mission to build India’s mountaineering community and help people realise their true potential by pushing their limits.
As I write this,
⛰️ I’m leading a team to Mt Ama Dablam in Nepal,
🥾 Another team is on the Annapurna Circuit,
🏕️ And one more has just started for Everest Base Camp.
Three teams. One spirit — to climb higher, live fuller, and inspire others to do the same. 🌍
So proud of you, Bharath. You’ve made your team, your country, and every dreamer proud.
Here’s to higher summits — on mountains and in life! 🏔️✨

From the chaos of Kathmandu to the calm of Tengboche, our Boots & Crampons Ama Dablam team has been writing a story of grit and grace in the Himalayas. 🏔️✨
After losing a day at Ramechap, the team made the most of every moment — hiking through Everest View Hotel, Khumjung, and Khonde villages, soaking in panoramic views and Sherpa warmth along the way. 🌤️
Now standing under the watchful gaze of Ama Dablam, spirits are high and hearts are steady.
Wishing the team clear skies, strong legs, and safe climbs ahead. 💪🙏
“The mountains are calling, and we are already on our way.”
