SOS URGENT SOS

Yogesh Meena, member of Disha Students' Organization and a student of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University has been illegally kidnapped by Uttar Pradesh STF from front of Ramjas College at around 1 pm today.

Four personnel of UP Special Task Force, impersonating as Delhi Police, picked up Yogesh and Sameer (another member of Disha) alleging that there is some police complaint against them. However, the police first took them towards Noida and then to Maurice Nagar Police Station, where Sameer was released after being intimidated and questioned about Noida. However, the UP STF illegally took Yogesh to Noida. Once again, the UP Police has acted in a completely lawless manner with complete impunity, abducting another conscientious young student and citizen in complete violation of all legal procedure. Yogesh was not given any notice, grounds of arrest, and neither were his lawyers, friends, or family informed.

Yogesh’s exact whereabouts are currently unknown. We cannot let UP Police to continue its illegal witch-hunt.

Call on the number below to demand the immediate release of Yogesh Meena:

Disha Students' Organization participated in the protest against the r**e of a 30 year old women in Delhi's Nangloi area. On 11th May the women was r**ed inside a private sleeper bus by the driver and the conductor themselves.

This is not for the first time that this kind of an incident has happened — not in the country and definitely not in Delhi, as we still remember the brutal gangr**e of Nirbhaya. According to NCRB every year more than 30 thousand r**e case is reported in the country. Every 20 minutes we witness an anti-women crime. And many of the cases aren't even reported due to women's insecurity and due to the corrupt law and a corrupt police system.

In this recent incident, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has not even uttered a single word and is trying to run away from her accountability. We all know that RSS-BJP is a Fascist organisation and patriarchal and anti-women outlook is a constituent element of its ideology and politics. Well, how can we expect from this government to say a single word on this issue and to be accountable when it is fraught with rapists, r**e apologists and shameless paddlers of misogyny and anti-women views? When the Sangh Parivar and BJP mobilise their entire organisational and state machinery to save the rapists of Unnao, Kathua, Hathras, Bilkis Bano etc., how can we expect Rekha Gupta to genuinely work for women safety in Delhi?

Sagar from Disha Students Organisation addressed the students and reminded them of a similar incident that occurred 14 years back in 2012 — popularly known as Nirbhay incident. Sagar emphasised that during the Nirbhaya movement JNU students and JNUSU took the issue outside the confines of JNU and played an important role in it. He called upon the students to once again take this issue from outside Sabarmati Dhaba to the common masses of Delhi. He also asserted that the fight against rising anti-women crimes is an integral part of the broader anti-fascist and anti-capitalist struggle. Genuine emancipation of women is not possible within this capitalist system based on profit, which converts women and their bodies into mere commodities.

Against the paper leak of NEET UG and incompetency of NTA to conduct a fair exam, a protest was organised at Jantar Mantar. Disha Students' Organization with other progressive organisations participated in the protest.

First we should remember that NTA is an autonomous and self-sustained foundation which outsources its examination process (from printing to examination management) to private entities. This is not the first time NTA has shown its inability to conduct a fair exam. Two years back in 2024, both NEET and UGC NET had paper leaks and exams were reconducted.
More than 22 lakhs students appeared in NEET UG 2026. This might be common for the government and NTA to cancel an examination and order it to be reconducted because of their own fault. But every time common students and their future gets affected, they have prepared for several years for these examinations in the hope that they will clear the exam and become a doctor and serve the country. After the paper leak, CBI probe will conduct an “investigation” where some low ranking official and a few students will get arrested instead of putting the entire examination system in the dock whose commercialisation and privitisation is the main reason behind the recurrent paper leaks. We believe that these paper leaks are not done by common students and cannot happen without the involvement of higher officials, politicians, and private entities.

We stand firmly in solidarity with the common students and demand:
1. The NTA be dissolved immediately.
2.The Education Minister, Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan, must resign immediately.
3. The paper leak of NEET 2026 must be investigated immediately, and all those responsible, including officials, private contractors, and political protectors, must be identified and punished.
4. Private outsourcing of examination processes must be put to an end.
5. Papers should be printed only through government presses instead of private presses
6. Students impacted by irregularities and scams in examinations should be properly compensated after an assessment of the losses they have suffered.

Revoke the suspension of a common student of APU!
Take immediate action against fascist ABVP goons!
Friends,
It will not be inappropriate to say that we are witnessing the darkest period in the history of India, where the dissenting voices and democratic rights of common students and workers are bulldozed on an unprecedented scale. Fascist forces and their marionettes are not leaving a single chance to bury the democratic rights of common people. One such incident transpired with a student of Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, who got suspended for two years, and two students have been issued written warnings for practicing their democratic rights.

On February 24th, a discussion was organized by a students' reading group on the 1991 Kunan-Poshpora incident in Kashmir. Kunan Poshpora are the twin villages of Kashmir's Kupwara, where the villages were cordoned off on one night of February 1991; men were separated and brutally tortured, and an estimate of around 100 women were gang-r**ed by the Indian state forces. But given the scale of impunity Indian state forces enjoy in Kashmir, no fair probe of this horrific incident was ever carried out in this case by the Indian state. Such a grave case was simply buried under the carpet by the Indian state, calling it, as often the charges upon the state are termed, an orchestrated conspiracy and propaganda.

So it was quite expected that if students hold any discussion around such a serious issue, the fascist ABVP would not be able to digest this. After all, they only know the politics of violence, and they are but the organized fascist-lumpen force ultimately serving the long-term interests of the capitalist state. After that ABVP entered the university premises, disrupted the ongoing discussions, vandalized property, spray-painted slogans on walls and sign boards, and damaged installations near the entrance gate.

A few months ago, we witnessed a similar incident at the University of Allahabad, where Disha Students' Organization organized a discussion on the recently introduced and soon scrapped new UGC guidelines.
