Through its CSR initiatives, Sonalika has established composting units across key religious sites in Delhi – Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Chattarpur Mandir, ISKCON Temple, and Jagannath Mandir.

By converting floral and organic waste into compost for their gardens, Sonalika is building a zero-waste circular economy.

CSR⁩ With growing concerns around electronic and plastic waste harming the ecosystem, Sonalika CSR, under its core focus area of Environment and Climate Change, organised an E-waste and Plastic Waste Collection Drive. The aim of this drive was to give a push to sustainable and responsible waste management practices and encourage a culture of environmental stewardship within the workplace and beyond.
The drive invited participants to bring unused and discarded electronics and plastic items for safe collection, becoming an opportunity to inspire behavioural change and instil eco-consciousness for employees and their families.

The response was overwhelming! 850 kgs of e-waste and plastic were collected. Two employees, Mr Pawan Verma and Mr Vikas Kumar, stood out as 'Eco Champions' with their contributions of 16 kgs and 14 kgs, respectively. We also applaud the contribution of Mr. Satya Karatagi (Commercial Dept.) and his family, who brought in 8 kgs of household items. Though not part of the contest, their initiative and enthusiasm set an inspiring example for all!

In the next phase, Sonalika CSR will repurpose the collected waste into a sustainable product to shift from waste collection to circular ecology. This is a small, responsible and meaningful step against climate change.

For years, Sonalika CSR has worked towards creating a positive impact in education through initiatives that bring real and lasting change. We are happy and honoured to share that Sonalika CSR has been awarded the 'Global CSR Excellence & Leadership Award for the 'Best use of CSR Practices in the Manufacturing Industry for Education.'

Under Sonalika Arogyam, a Sonalika CSR initiative, Ekam Foundation distributed 120 Nutrition kits to high-risk mothers. The event, which took place at Sakkimangala Panchayat, Madurai East, was centred on improving maternal and child health through essential nutritional support during pregnancy.
The kit distribution was accompanied by expert advice from healthcare professionals—they also stressed the significance of proper maternal nutrition, antenatal and postnatal care, and early childhood development. The event was honoured by the presence of key dignitaries, including Dr. Nazimarani, Block Medical Officer, Kalantheri, Dr. Chandralehka, Medical Officer, Sakkimangalam Primary Health Center (PHC), and Mr. Thennavan, Headmaster, LKB School, Sakkimangalam.

Every two minutes, a woman loses her life due to pregnancy and childbirth-related causes, many of which are preventable with proper nutrition and care. (UNICEF, 2023).

Fortunately, challenges like micro nutrient deficiency, anaemia, and under-nutrition can be prevented or treated with access to affordable interventions in health, nutrition, and sanitation. Responding to these pressing concerns, Sonalika CSR, in collaboration with Ekam Foundation, proudly launches the Arogyam Program in Madurai East, Tamil Nadu. Among the various intervention areas, our key focus is on promoting Kangaroo Mother care and breastfeeding, equipping community health facilities with KMC and nutrition kits, providing counselling for institutional delivery and antenatal care, and encouraging family-centric care. Together, we aim for a future where every mother and child can experience good health, happiness, and a brighter tomorrow.
