How the parents can help the child in choosing the right stream??
Every child is unique and different from others. He may have different habits, abilities, aptitudes, skills, and personalities. Some become aware of their strength whereas some remain in darkness wondering what they want to achieve in their life, what they are good at, and what is their aim? What qualities do they possess? After giving their class 10 exams the first thing which really makes them confused is the choice of subject. The stream which they select will decide their career path. Even the parents become anxious at this time. So from where the child is going to take help and as a parent how can we help the child? The child faces pressure from everyone. The parents must help the child by guiding them properly with the help of counselors.
The first step for the parent and the child is to know about the various streams available. Educate the child about the various stream - science, humanities, commerce, and arts. What professional courses can they take after completing their grade 12, and what may be the level of competition? What other subjects are there with the main subject? At this point, they get influenced by their peers and take the same stream as their friends are opting for. So it's we as parents can empower our children to select the right career. Now tell them the different career options available, get them to read about the upcoming jobs, and make them meet people who can help them in broadening their horizons.
The next step is to know their aptitude, interests, skills, and personality by taking an assessment. This helps in understanding the child better and it will become effortless to choose. The best stream is one that your child has the aptitude for and he is interested in. Know about their passion, if they try to follow their passion they need to invest time in it. If the child opts for a profession just for earning money or in family pressure, the outcome after 15-20 years might be unfortunate. The parents need not force their expectations on the child. After listening, evaluating, and speaking to the counselors a road map can be created for the child. Research has to be made to help them follow through.
In the process of making career choices or stream selection, they have to encourage their child and help them in making choices. The parents have to remember that they have to accept, that the final decision will be of their child and they have to respect it.

Dream and Passion. Are they same?
The dream is something you want to be in your life and passion is something you love doing.
Passion is a strong desire to do something. Suppose someone says I have a passion for travel and at the same time he feels that his dream is to travel the world. So why not pursue his career in traveling?
Passion is something that makes you happy from the inside. But if you want to pursue your passion as a career, dream about it but keep your eyes wide open. Keep pushing yourself, do not give up, and invest your time in your passion.
Investing time will only be a matter of a few years. Because if you are not following your passion, you have to compromise your age and the happiness associated with it for the rest of your life.
