1. India’s AMCA program is moving ahead as ADA and the MoD prepare to choose production partners from seven bidders by mid-2026. The FSED phase will push toward a prototype in 2028 and induction by the mid-2030s.
2. India is considering buying additional S-400 air-defence systems from Russia after their strong performance in Operation Sindoor. The proposal is expected to come up during President Putin’s visit in December 2025.
3. DRDO’s CHESS has launched a 300 kW high-power laser weapon project with an advanced beam-control system to defeat UAVs and missiles at long range. An RFI has been issued to development partners for end-to-end support.
4. The IAF Chief reiterated confidence in AMCA timelines, with first flight targeted for 2028 and induction around 2035. He said India will accelerate indigenous 5th-gen capability while keeping import options open for urgent gaps.
5. Rafale is the frontrunner for the IAF’s urgent fighter infusion due to proven integration and quick availability. The final choice will depend on meaningful technology transfer and Make-in-India commitments.
6. Tejas Mk-II’s prototype rollout has shifted to mid-2026 to accommodate technology validations and upgrades. The maiden flight is now aimed for January 2027 to avoid cascading delays.
7. After successful intercepts of Pakistan’s Fatah-I/II rockets, the Army is set to order two regiments of Akash Prime, with parallel QRSAM buys to strengthen high-altitude air defence. Trials are complete and approvals are expected soon.
8. Declassified footage confirms Su-30MKIs employed IAI Rampage missiles during Operation Sindoor to strike deep, high-value targets. The integration marks a tactical leap by combining heavy-fighter range with standoff precision.

1️⃣ DRDO’s LRDE has begun work on the Navigation Radar for Integrated Combat Suite (NRICS) for submarines. The system will boost navigation, surveillance, and surface warfare capabilities, enhancing India’s underwater strike power under the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission.
2️⃣ The IAF is fast-tracking Very High Frequency (VHF) radar deployment in the Himalayas and high-altitude zones. These radars, operating in the 30–200 MHz band, can detect stealth aircraft like China’s J-20 by penetrating radar-absorbing materials.
3️⃣ IAF Chief A.P. Singh announced that 75% of Su-30MKI fighters will undergo the “Super Sukhoi” upgrade. With new AESA radar, AI-infused cockpit, advanced jammers, and indigenous weapons, the upgrade will extend their service life into the 2050s.
4️⃣IAF confirmed that during Operation Sindoor, Pakistani F-16s and J-17s were destroyed. India also struck an AEW&C and multiple fighter jets. Pakistan’s claims of downing Indian aircraft were dismissed as propaganda.
5️⃣ India has launched work on ‘Sudarshan Chakra,’ its indigenous version of the Iron Dome air defence system. Integrated with the IAF’s command and control systems, this project aims at strengthening India’s self-reliant air defence shield.
6️⃣ Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVANI) is expanding exports of tanks, spares, and support services to Africa, West Asia, and Asia. With legacy platforms like Arjun MBT, T-90 Bhishma, and BMP-2, AVANI aims to cement India’s role as a key global defence supplier.
7️⃣ India’s MoD has sought pricing from Dassault Aviation for 40–114 additional Rafale jets. This comes amid squadron shortages and modernization needs. Rafales, already combat-proven in the IAF, are set to play a larger role in India’s future aerial capabilities.
8️⃣ HAL is set to manufacture GE F414 engines in India for Tejas Mk2 and AMCA under an 80% Transfer of Technology (ToT) deal. However, the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) software will remain under GE’s control, raising long-term autonomy concerns.

1️⃣ Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been confirmed as a key design partner in India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, holding a 20–25% share in the design and development. HAL’s involvement reflects its growing expertise in advanced aircraft design and reinforces India’s push for defence self-reliance under Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
2️⃣ The IAF is negotiating with Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) to procure around 500 Astra Mk1 Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missiles (BVRAAMs) for the Tejas Mk1A fleet. With 180 jets contracted or planned, the Tejas Mk1A flee.
3️⃣ India is developing the “Sudarshan Chakra,” described as the mother of all air defence systems. It will integrate counter-drone, counter-UAV, and counter-hypersonic missile systems. Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit stressed that lessons from Operation Sindoor show India must stay “two steps ahead” of adversaries.
4️⃣ The Indian Air Force has submitted a proposal to expand its fighter strength to 55 squadrons from the current sanctioned 42. This is in response to challenges from China and Pakistan. The move underscores India’s need for simultaneous multi-front operational readiness.
5️⃣ HAL has received two foreign proposals for a Directed Infrared Counter Measure (DIRCM) system. This will integrate advanced laser-based countermeasures to protect against infrared-guided missiles in high-altitude and combat zones. Proposals came from Israel’s Elbit Systems and Italy’s Elettronica S.p.A.
6️⃣ The Indian Navy’s plan to acquire four Landing Platform Docks (LPDs) could be reimagined as UAV carriers. 1️⃣ HAL’s ₹62,700 Cr LCH Prachand Upgrade Project
HAL will deliver 156 upgraded Light Combat Helicopters Prachand by 2033. The massive project aims to significantly improve combat effectiveness and survivability of the LCH for both the Army and Air Force.
2️⃣ IAF-HAL Finalize 97 Additional Tejas Order
A ₹66,000 crore deal has been sealed for 97 more Tejas Mk1A aircraft—68 fighters and 29 trainers. Unlike earlier trainers, these 29 will feature advanced AESA radar and state-of-the-art avionics, ensuring operational uniformity.
3️⃣ HAL Clarifies 18 Tejas Trainers Standard
HAL Chief confirmed that the 18 Tejas Trainers currently under delivery to IAF will retain Mk1 standards with EL/M-2032 radar, instead of the AESA-equipped Mk1A standard, balancing legacy and modernization goals.
4️⃣ The Army is fast-tracking drone and counter-drone induction under its “Eagle in the Arm” modernisation concept. Training centres are being set up at IMA Dehradun, Infantry School Mhow, and OTA Chennai.
5️⃣ Dassault Offers Rafale F4.1 Variant to India

1. Pakistan Air Force – Nur Khan Airbase Strike
Several defence portals and analysts claim that the Pakistan Air Force has admitted that Rawalpindi’s Nur Khan Airbase was hit by Indian Air Force Mirage-2000 jets using Spice-2000 bombs.
Though no official PAF release has come, PM Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy PM Ishaq Dar have already acknowledged strikes during Operation Sindoor.
Satellite images also support this. Since Spice-2000’s range is about 60 km and the base is 80 km from the LoC, debate continues whether IAF crossed into Pakistani airspace.
2. Tejas MK-1A (LA-5038)
Photos of Tejas MK-1A aircraft number LA-5038 from HAL Nashik have gone viral. The aircraft looks ready to fly, and its first test flight is expected soon.
3. Missile Test Notification
India has issued a notification for a missile test in the Bay of Bengal between September 24–25. The exact missile type has not been disclosed yet.
4. India–US Trade Talks
In New Delhi, India and the United States held trade talks for nearly seven hours. The meeting was described as positive and forward-looking. The next round is expected on September 24–25.
5. 97 Additional Tejas MK-1A Jets
The Ministry of Defence and HAL are close to signing a deal worth ₹66,000 crore for 97 new Tejas MK-1A aircraft. HAL CMD D.K. Sunil confirmed the contract could be finalized by October 2025, giving a major boost to the IAF and India’s aviation ecosystem.
6. DRDO’s New Conductive Fabric
DRDO’s DIPAS lab has developed a multi-functional conductive fabric to shield soldiers from thermal, IR, and advanced surveillance systems. It will be especially effective in Siachen and other high-altitude areas, marking a game-changing development.

1️⃣INS Vikrant will be armed with a 250 km interceptor missile, expanding its air defense beyond the current 90 km Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM) and giving it a stronger layered shield in the Indo-Pacific.
2️⃣DRDO’s Project Kusha will field M2 (250 km) and M3 (350–400 km) surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) with hit-to-kill tech, strengthening India’s layered air defense from 2027.
3️⃣DRDO’s new Digital Active Phased Array (DAPA) Radar is a next-gen phased array system with 200 km range, advanced ECCM (Electronic Counter-Countermeasures), and modular design for air defense, surveillance, and UAV tracking.
4️⃣DRDO’s Supersonic Target (STAR) drone simulates high-speed threats up to Mach 2.5 and 200 km range, with sea-skimming, stealth profiles, and countermeasures, providing realistic, reusable training for India’s armed forces.
5️⃣IAF will induct anti-swarm drone systems with kinetic interceptors to protect bases, complementing jammers and lasers for stronger layered defense.

2️⃣The IAF is developing 1,000 km swarm drones for saturation strikes, with plans to launch them from transport aircraft as cost-effective loitering munitions.
3️⃣Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) plan to develop indigenous ejection seats for Tejas and Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), replacing imported Martin-Baker systems.
4️⃣The Indian Navy will use nuclear propulsion and electromagnetic aircraft launch systems (EMALS) in its next carrier and warships, enhancing endurance and power projection under Make in India.
5️⃣The Indian Army tested a quad-mounted Negev Light Machine Gun (LMG) in Ladakh, achieving 90% success against drones, adding a low-cost layer to its anti-UAV defenses.
