World Anesthesia Day or World Anaesthesia Day, also known in some countries as National Anaesthesia Day or Ether Day, is an annual event celebrated around the world on 16 October to commemorate the first successful demonstration of diethyl ether anesthesia by William T. G. Morton on 16 October 1846.

The theme for World Anaesthesia Day in 2023 is “Anaesthesia: Ensuring Access, Enhancing Safe Surgical Care Everywhere.” This theme emphasizes the global commitment to making safe anaesthesia accessible to all, regardless of geographical or economic constraints.

Types of Anaesthesia:
Understanding the various types of anaesthesia is fundamental. They include General, Spinal, Epidural, Regional, and Local Anaesthesia, each tailored to specific medical scenarios and patient needs.

World Food Day 2023 will focus on the theme, ‘Water is Life, Water is Food. Leave No One Behind’. The theme aims to highlight the critical role of water for life on earth and water as the foundation of our food. It also seeks to raise global awareness about the importance of managing water wisely as rapid population growth, economic development, urbanization, and climate change threaten water availability.

World Food Day takes place annually on 16 October and promotes awareness of hunger and action for the future of food, people, and the planet. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) designated 16 October as World Food Day in 1979.

The Mauryan Empire, which began about 321 BCE and ended in 185 BCE, was the first pan-Indian empire, encompassing the majority of India.
Various sources, literary and archaeological, epigraphic and numismatic, have shed light on the empire's history. Current literature and archaeological discoveries are important sources of knowledge.
