Empowering Inclusive Education Through Technology | National Seminar on Inclusive Education & Teacher Capacity Building 2026
It was a privilege to participate as a Panelist at the National Seminar on Inclusive Education & Teacher Capacity Building, organised by SHINE AVI Learning in Dehradun.
The seminar brought together policymakers, academicians, SCERT officials, school leaders, medical professionals, researchers and educators committed to building an inclusive education system aligned with NEP 2020.
During the panel discussion, I had the opportunity to share the role of SCERT Uttarakhand in strengthening inclusive education through teacher capacity building, curriculum development, digital innovation and technology-enabled learning.
A major highlight of my presentation was the live demonstration of Assistive and Diagnostic Digital Applications designed to support 21 categories of Children with Disabilities (CwDs) in school education.
The demonstration focused on practical AI- and ICT-enabled solutions that can assist teachers in:
✅ Early identification of learning difficulties
✅ Classroom screening and observation
✅ Individualized learning support
✅ Communication support for neurodivergent learners
✅ Reading, writing and language assistance
✅ Accessible learning resources
✅ Progress monitoring and documentation
✅ Visual learning and differentiated instruction
These technologies have the potential to make classrooms more inclusive by enabling teachers to identify learning needs early and provide timely, evidence-based interventions.
The panel also explored important questions related to the implementation of NEP 2020, teacher competencies for inclusive classrooms, the role of SCERTs, and the integration of AI, Assistive Technology and ICT in mainstream education.
I sincerely thank Anita Sharma, Founder of SHINE AVI Learning, for creating such an inspiring platform that bridges education, technology and inclusion. Her remarkable journey—from a devoted mother of two neurodivergent sons to a national advocate for inclusive education—is truly inspiring.
Heartfelt congratulations to Hon'ble Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for launching the SHINE AVI Visual Learning Curriculum, and to Bandana Garbyal, Director (Academic Research & Training), SCERT Uttarakhand, for her visionary keynote address and continued leadership in strengthening teacher capacity building and inclusive education.
Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, participate and succeed—regardless of ability.
