High Court Grants Stay on Interview Process for Teaching and Non-Teaching Teachers
Petitioners argue permanent employment, non-payment of salary, and recruitment CONCERNS
In a recent court order, the High Court of Judicature at Bombay Nagpur Bench has granted a stay on the interview process for teaching and non-teaching teachers. The petitioners, represented by Shri A.D. Mohgaonkar, Advocate, sought various directions, including a stay on the communication dated 03/06/2024, which called the petitioners for an interview for fresh appointments.
The petitioners argued that they are already in permanent employment with the respondent Vikramshila Polytechnic Darapur & Shri Dadasaheb Gawai Charitable Trust ,Amravati managing the polytechnic and, therefore, should not be required to undergo the interview process. They further contended that they have not been paid their salaries and expressed concerns about the management's intention to recruit an entirely new staff, which they believe is not permissible.
Mhala, learned Counsel appearing for the management, requested two weeks' time to file a reply to the petitioners' contentions. The court granted the requested time and ordered the case to stand over for two weeks.
During this period, the services of the petitioners will be protected, ensuring that they will not face any adverse consequences.
This court order highlights the ongoing legal battle between the petitioners and the state of Maharashtra, shedding light on the issues of permanent employment, salary non-payment, and concerns over the recruitment process.
