PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Damoh Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour
Damoh, 15 August 2026: PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Damoh celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotic spirit and solemnity. The beautifully decorated Vidyalaya campus, washed by gentle rain and blessed with pleasant weather, created a refreshing atmosphere for the celebration.
The Chief Guest, Shri Pratap Narayan Yadav, IAS, Collector Damoh and Chairman, Vidyalaya Management Committee, unfurled the National Flag. The gathering proudly sang the National Anthem and paid tribute to the brave freedom fighters whose sacrifices brought freedom to the nation.
Addressing the students, Shri Pratap Narayan Yadav described them as the future of the nation. He said that students could serve the country by studying sincerely and developing themselves into responsible citizens. He emphasised that Vidyalayas are not merely centres of academic learning; they also teach discipline, good manners, patriotism and respect for India’s rich culture. He observed that the all-round development of the youth ultimately leads to the development of the country and encouraged the students to participate actively in every field.
Students from Balvatika–3 to Class XII presented a colourful cultural programme comprising patriotic songs, dances and yoga demonstrations. Their energetic performances filled the entire campus with patriotic fervour. Through their speeches, the students recalled the struggles and sacrifices of the freedom fighters. They also expressed concern about the present challenges and future of the country and called upon their fellow students to remain steadfast, work hard and contribute to nation-building.

Damoh, extended his Independence Day greetings to the students, parents and teachers. He emphasised that a nation becomes truly great when its citizens perform their duties with honesty, dedication and responsibility.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Alpana Shrivastava, PGT Chemistry. Sweets and biscuits were distributed among the students at the end of the celebration. The event left everyone filled with pride, gratitude and a renewed commitment to serve the nation.
