🚁 Drone Flying Rules in India: Know Your Zones! 🇮🇳
📘 By Skill Robostem Drone Academy
🎯 If you're flying a drone in India, you must understand these 3 zones:
Green Zone, Yellow Zone, and Red Zone
in drone flying rules in India (as per Drone Rules, 2021)
🟩 Green Zone
Where you can fly a drone freely (with some height limits).
It includes:
Areas up to 400 feet (120 meters) above the ground not marked as Red or Yellow.
Between 8 km to 12 km from any operational airport, you can fly only up to 200 feet (60 meters).
✅ No ATC permission needed in Green Zones.
🟨 Yellow Zone
Restricted flying area.
You must take permission from Air Traffic Control (ATC).
It includes:
Any area marked Yellow on the airspace map.
Areas above 400 feet in Green Zones.
Areas above 200 feet in the 8–12 km zone from airport perimeters.
🟥 Red Zone
High-security airspace (very sensitive).
You can fly only with special permission from the Central Government.
Often includes military areas, borders, or key infrastructure.
