The PG & Research Department of Commerce organized a Workshop on "Artificial Intelligence for Commerce: Where Data Meets Decision-Making"

This workshop provided students with an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the commerce and business landscape.

Through insightful sessions by Ms. S. Thogai Somasundaram, Amazon Operations & Supply Chain Manager, and Ms. S. Karpagam, MCA, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, students gained practical exposure to how AI-driven tools and data analytics are reshaping decision-making, operations, and supply chain management in the corporate world.

As part of the session, students learned how businesses harness data to improve efficiency, forecast trends, and make smarter, faster decisions. The resource persons shared real-world insights from industry, bridging the gap between academic concepts and practical application.

The PG & Research Department of Commerce, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, organized a Skill Development Programme on "Risk to Resilience: Mastering Business Risk Management." The session was conducted by Mr. B. Karthik, Proprietor, R A B Events, Coimbatore who shared practical insights on managing business risks and building resilience in today's competitive business environment.

During the programme, the resource person explained various types of business risks, including financial, operational, strategic, and technological risks. He emphasized the importance of identifying potential challenges, planning proactively, making informed decisions, and adopting effective risk management strategies to ensure business continuity and sustainable growth.

The PG & Research Department of Commerce & Health and Wellness Club organized an Extension Activity on "Importance of Health & Hygiene" at the Government Primary Health Centre, Vellalore.

This outreach initiative provided students with an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and engage directly with public healthcare services. Through interaction with healthcare professionals and observation of primary healthcare operations, students gained practical insights into health awareness, hygiene practices, preventive care, patient services, and public health initiatives.

As part of the extension activity, students educated the public on the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene and healthy habits. They created awareness about cleanliness, hand hygiene, and disease prevention, encouraging people to adopt hygienic practices for a healthier lifestyle.

More than just a visit, it was a journey of learning,service, and social awareness—empowering students to contribute towards a healthier and more hygienic society.

The PG & Research Department of Commerce and Consumer Awareness Club organized an Awareness Session on "Consumer Rights in Digital Age" on 4th August 2026 at Room No.205. The session was handled by Ms. B. Subhitcha, Advocate, Coimbatore District Court. She interacted with the students and explained consumer rights with a focus on online transactions, e-commerce, and digital frauds. The discussion of live complaint records made the session practical and useful, helping students understand how to file grievances through NCH 1915 and the E-Daakhil Portal. The session was highly interactive and empowered students to become alert and responsible digital consumers.
