🏵️​Protecting young eyes for a brighter tomorrow! 👁️✨
​In observance of World Children’s Eye Safety Month, PPG Institute of Optometry , in association with Sankara Eye Hospital, organized a comprehensive vision screening camp at Alchemy Public School, Saravanampatti.
​Our team screened around 400 students and 40 staff members to ensure early detection and proactive eye care. Along with the screenings, our dedicated faculty and students delivered interactive awareness sessions to educate students on essential eye safety habits, screen time management, and protective care.
To top it off, we hosted an on-spot drawing competition on the theme of Eye Donation. We were blown away by the children's creativity—they captured the powerful concept of sight restoration with unbelievable depth and maturity! 🎨👏

​Our PPG Optometry students took center stage at Noiyal Thiruvizha 2026 a kanada Tamil sangam event, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu with high-energy traditional performances! 🌾🥁
​From the rhythmic beats of Parai and the sharp focus of Silambam to the vibrant steps of Kummi and Naattupura Nadanam, our students brought pure passion and pride to the celebration.
​We were deeply honored to perform in the presence of our esteemed Chairman, Dr. L. P. Thangavelu Sir, whose continuous support inspires our students to excel both in academics and cultural traditions. ✨

👁️✨ Serving the Community, One Screening at a Time! ✨👁️
​Over the last two days (Aug 20–21), our enthusiastic PPG optometry students took clinical care beyond the classroom! Partnering with leading eye care providers, our team successfully screened 839 individuals across Coimbatore—spanning schools, community hubs, and local banking centers.
​📍 Camp Locations:
Government School (Puliyakulam), A.R.N. Matriculation School (Ondipudur), Bishop Ubagaraswamy High School (RS Puram), Race Course, and ICICI Bank branches at Nava India, Singanallur, Sungam, Uppilipalayam, & Chinniyampalayam.
​Hands-on outreach like this allows our students to deepen their real-world diagnostic skills while making quality vision care accessible to pediatric and geriatric communities alike. 💙

​Dedicated to bringing quality eye health care to our community! Today, our ppg optometry team successfully conducted two comprehensive eye screening camps in collaboration with our esteemed clinical partners.

​Total Referred for Further Treatment: 74 Patients.
