5 tips for creating and sticking to a goal list:
Making a goal list also helps you stay calm because it forces you to think about each individual task in manageable bites. And finally, if following a goal list isn’t easy for you, try using one of these 5 tips for creating and sticking to a goal list:
1) Make sure your goals are specific –
Clarify what exactly you want to achieve by listing out detailed steps or objectives rather than vague phrases like “be productive” or “take care of business.”
2) Break larger goals into smaller ones –
Instead of thinking about completing your entire project by tomorrow morning, break down the big task into smaller pieces that can be completed over time
3) Set deadlines –
Knowing when something needs to be done allows us to set boundaries, so we aren’t kept pushing ourselves further until disaster strikes.
4) Create meaningful rewards–
Even minor accomplishments feel better after being recognized with something special. This special can be a hot coffee break too, but remember to reward yourself, to keep yourself motivated to achieve more.
5) Find someone who supports your dream/goal –
Having others champion your cause can really help take the weight off when things get tough. Afterall all of us need someone who pats our back!
