The four-day All India Inter-University Road Cycling Competition, jointly organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and MGM University, concluded on a high note, celebrating exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship.

Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner clinched the overall championship in the men’s category, while Panjab University, Chandigarh emerged as the overall winner in the women’s category with outstanding performances.

महाराजा गंगा सिंग विद्यापीठ आणि पंजाब विद्यापीठ सर्वसाधारण विजेतेपद पटकावत ठरले अव्वल!

असोसिएशन ऑफ इंडियन युनिव्हर्सिटीज (एआययू) आणि महात्मा गांधी मिशन विद्यापीठ यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने आयोजित चार दिवसीय अखिल भारतीय आंतर विद्यापीठ रोड सायकलिंग स्पर्धेचा उत्साहपूर्ण वातावरणात यशस्वी समारोप झाला. पुरुष गटात महाराजा गंगा सिंग विद्यापीठ, बिकानेर यांनी सर्वसाधारण विजेतेपद पटकावले, तर महिला गटात पंजाब विद्यापीठ, चंदीगड यांनी उत्कृष्ट कामगिरी करत सर्वसाधारण विजेतेपद मिळवले.

Olympian Dattu Bhokanal delivered an inspiring address during the inaugural ceremony of the 9th MGM Olympics, held as part of the 43rd Foundation Day celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi Mission (MGM). He emphasized the importance of discipline and focus for athletes, stating that it is essential to stay completely away from social media during the training period. He further shared that he personally remained off social media for four years during his preparation, underscoring the value of a distraction-free environment.

Bhokanal expressed confidence in the potential of Indian athletes, affirming that every athlete in the country has the capability to become an Olympian with dedication and hard work.

The ceremony, held at the MGM Cricket Stadium, was attended by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. P. M. Jadhav, Vice Chairman of MGM; Shri Ankushrao Kadam, Secretary; Dr. Ashish Gadekar, Registrar, MGM University; Dr. Aparna Kakkad, Director of MGM Schools; Dr. John Chelladurai, Dean; Dr.Rajendra Bohra; Nitin Ghorpade, Sports Director; Dr. Prerna Dalvi, Project Director; Teena Saharan, Director of Human Resources; Rashi Jain, Chief Finance & Accounts Officer; Dr. Dinesh Wanjare, Head of Sports Department; along with deans, directors, principals, faculty members, students, athletes, and other dignitaries.

आज आपण कोणताही क्रीडाप्रकार खेळा मात्र, या तयारीच्या कार्यकाळात आपण पूर्णपणे समाज माध्यमांपासून दूर राहणे आवश्यक आहे. मी माझ्या तयारी दरम्यान चार वर्षे समाज माध्यमांपासून दूर होतो. आपल्या देशातील खेळाडूंमध्ये प्रचंड क्षमता असून देशातील प्रत्येक खेळाडू ऑलिंपियन होऊ शकतो असे प्रतिपादन ऑलिम्पियन तथा अर्जुन पुरस्कार विजेते दत्तू भोकनळ यांनी यावेळी केले.

महात्मा गांधी मिशनच्या ४३ व्या वर्धापन दिनानिमित्त यावर्षी विविध कार्यक्रमांचे आयोजन करण्यात आले असून एमजीएम विद्यापीठाच्या वतीने आयोजित करण्यात आलेल्या ९ व्या एमजीएम ऑलिंपिकचा उद्घाटन सोहळा आज मान्यवरांच्या प्रमुख उपस्थितीत एमजीएम क्रिकेट स्टेडियम येथे संपन्न झाला. यावेळी, ऑलिम्पियन तथा अर्जुन पुरस्कार विजेते दत्तू भोकनळ यांनी उपस्थित खेळाडूंशी संवाद साधला.

GOLDEN MOMENTS OF 10th MGM RUN FOR HERITAGE 2025🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻🥉🥉🏆

On the occasion of the 43rd Foundation Day of the Mahatma Gandhi Mission, the ‘MGM Run for Heritage 2025 Marathon’ was successfully organised at the MGM Cricket Stadium, drawing thousands of enthusiastic runners from across the region.

The dignitaries jointly flagged off the marathon, marking its formal inauguration amid energetic cheers and vibrant participation.

The event was graced by prominent dignitaries including MGM University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Vilas Sapkal, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Dr. Vinaykumar Rathod, Commandant, Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force Vikram Sali, Registrar Dr. Ashish Gadekar, Entrepreneur Dr. Ranjit Kakkad, Dean Dr. Prapti Deshmukh, Dean Dr. John Chelladurai, MGM Project Director Dr. Prerana Dalvi, Sports Director Nitin Ghorpade, and Head of Department Dr. Dinesh Wanjare. Directors, principals, faculty members, students, runners, and several guests were also present to witness and support the event.

This year marks the tenth edition of the MGM Marathon, a community event that continues to see overwhelming participation from citizens annually.

Beyond promoting fitness and unity, the marathon also plays a vital role in raising awareness about the rich heritage sites of the city, encouraging people to connect with and preserve their cultural legacy.
