A Tribute to the Legend – CA T. N. Manoharan, Padma Shri Awardee
Regional Grand Master – Freemasons of South India

With a heavy heart and deep reverence, I pay tribute to Worshipful Brother CA T. N. Manoharan, a beacon of our profession and a revered figure in the Masonic fraternity.

From humble rural beginnings, he rose to become a true icon of the Chartered Accountancy profession, earning the Padma Shri and commanding respect across boardrooms, classrooms, and temples of learning. His leadership during the Satyam crisis, his presidency at ICAI, and his chairmanships at Canara Bank and IDBI are milestones that shaped the profession’s credibility and strength.

As a Freemason, I had the distinct privilege of witnessing his grace and leadership more closely. My installation as Senior Deacon in 2025 remains a cherished memory, made all the more significant because it happened in the dignified presence of our Regional Grand Master himself. In those moments, I saw not just a professional legend—but a humble, wise, and noble soul committed to service, values, and brotherhood.

Though I never had the opportunity to interact with him personally beyond those occasions, his presence alone was a powerful lesson—a reminder of what it means to lead with purpose and live with humility.

His life inspires thousands like me—not just to become successful professionals—but to become better human beings.

Farewell, Sir. Your light will continue to guide us—both in the profession and in the Craft.

I have been invited as a Guest speaker for talks about GST Annual Returns and Audit [GSTR 9 and 9C] at the Mega conference on GST at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, and this event hosted by SIRC ICAI Branches of Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, and Sivakasi.
