A candidate does not perform well in an assessment.

The immediate question is often:
Was the candidate good enough?
But there may be another question worth asking first.
Did the assessment give the candidate a fair opportunity to show what they could do?

A strict time limit.
One fixed way of responding.
No clear route to request an accommodation.
Requirements that may not be central to the job itself.
Sometimes, what looks like a capability gap may also be telling us something about the way the assessment was designed.

So before we make a judgement about the person, perhaps we should look again at the process.
Did the assessment allow capability to be demonstrated?

LOOK AGAIN.
Then change what gets in the way.

The Digital Accessibility Conversation Is Changing.

Digital accessibility often gets discussed as a checklist standards, testing, compliance. But the real conversation is much bigger.
As India’s regulatory landscape evolves, organisations need to look beyond simply meeting requirements. The bigger question is: Are your digital products, platforms and processes ready for what comes next?

That’s the conversation we’re opening up on 29 October.
Join v-shesh and SaralX for an hour of insights, questions and practical perspectives on what the changing accessibility landscape could mean for organisations.

Sometimes, when something does not work for a person with a disability, our first instinct is to ask:
What is difficult for the person?
But what if we asked a different question?
What is making it difficult for them?

That small shift can change what we notice.
- A steep ramp.
- A rigid assessment.
- A digital platform that some people cannot use.
- A workplace norm that rewards only one way of communicating.
- A career system that opens the door, but not always the path forward.

At v-shesh, we believe inclusion often begins with this shift in perspective.
To look beyond the individual.
To notice what has become normal.
To question what may be getting in the way.

Over the next few weeks, through LOOK AGAIN, we will explore some of these hidden barriers across recruitment, accessibility, communication, technology and career progression.
Not to find fault.
To find what can change.
LOOK AGAIN.
Then change what gets in the way.

Sport has no barriers when everyone gets a chance to play. The 2nd V-Sports Event brought together participants across disability categories for a day of sport, participation and celebration. 💙

From guided runs and blind cricket to wheelchair races, fencing, shot put and track events, the focus was simple — creating opportunities for everyone to participate, compete and enjoy the spirit of sport.

Because inclusion is not just about being present.
It’s about having the opportunity to participate.

Here’s a glimpse of the energy, determination and joy from the day!

A look back at a week of raising hands, opening conversations and building understanding.

Last month, as we celebrated International Week of Deaf People, we took the opportunity to bring Deaf awareness and sign language into more workplaces and conversations.
Across the week, we conducted 20+ Deaf awareness sessions, engaged with 10+ corporate clients, and reached 2,500+ participants.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.
The real impact was in the questions asked, the signs learned, the conversations started, and the barriers to notice.
Here’s a little look at what we did during the week. 💜

Something new is taking shape at v-shesh.

What does it take to move from awareness to meaningful disability inclusion at the workplace?

We’re working on something designed to help organisations take that step with the right knowledge, perspective and practical understanding.

“They are so less judgmental. I love that.”
That’s what ISL interpreter Alafia told us she’s learned from the Deaf community and it’s stayed with her.
This International Week of Deaf People, we sat down with Alafia to talk about her work, and about the AI question everyone’s asking interpreters right now: will it replace you?
Her answer: not anytime soon. “There are so many situations where human interaction is needed. So, we are safe.”
