C.L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy

On the occasion of World Kidney Day, C. L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, Chennai, organized an awareness program on 12th March 2026 highlighting the importance of kidney health.
The session was delivered by Dr. Aafrin Shabbir, Senior Consultant in Internal Medicine & Diabetology from Gleneagles Global Hospital, who shared valuable insights on prevention, early detection, and management of kidney diseases.
Pharm.D students actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions and gaining knowledge about kidney care and healthy lifestyle practices. The program reflected this year’s theme: “Kidney Health for All – Caring for People, Protecting the Planet.”

Our college, C. L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, celebrated International Women’s Day on 09.03.2026 with great enthusiasm and dignity. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Mrs.Andal Priyadarshini, a recipient of the Kalaimamani Award, renowned poet, and short story writer. In her inspiring address, she highlighted the significance of women’s equality, empowerment, and the vital role of education in shaping a progressive society.

A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized on in our college campus in association with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. The event aimed to promote the noble cause of saving lives and to encourage students and staff to contribute towards this humanitarian effort.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members.

Approximately 17.5 litres of blood were collected during the camp, showcasing the overwhelming response and willingness of the participants to contribute to society. Each donor was provided with refreshments and a certificate of appreciation as a token of gratitude for their selfless act.

In observance of World Diabetes Day 2024, themed Breaking Barriers: Bridging Gaps United to Strengthen Diabetes Well-being, C.L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre, organized a free medical camp on November 18, 2024.
The camp offered blood sugar testing, blood pressure monitoring, and BMI assessments, benefitting over 100 participants. This initiative aimed to promote diabetes awareness and encourage healthier lifestyles.

On the prestigious occasion of the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University Research Day 2024 – ARIVELVI, conducted in University Silver Jubilee hall on 26/9/2024, Our Institution C. L. Baid Metha College of Pharmacy was honoured as the Best Academic Institution for Pharm.D programme in the academic year 2023-2024. The award was presented by Thiru.Ma.Subramanian Honourable Health Minister, Government of Tamil Nadu and presided by Prof.Dr.K.Narayanasamy, MD., DM. (Gastro) Vice Chancellor, The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.

As a part of World Pharmacists Day celebration
Pharm D interns provided drug information and counseling to the patients at “Drug Information Center” Stanley Government Hospital, Chennai.

In commemoration of World Pharmacist Day” C L Baid Metha College of Pharmacy organized a “Health Screening Camp” on 25/09/2024.

On account of World Pharmacist Day on 25th September 2024, pamphlets raising awareness about drug abuse were distributed to the public.

World Pharmacist Day was celebrated on 25th of September 2024 in a grand manner with presence of Chief guest Mr. K. M. Srinivasan, Deputy Drugs Controller, South Zone, CDSCO. Our College Chairman Mr. Srinivasan R, Mr. V. Sivasankaran, Ravi Pharmacy, Ravi Polyclinic and also Drug Inspector Mr. Sakthivel graced the occasion. Our college Principal Prof Dr. C.N. Nalini, Vice Principal Prof. Dr. N. Ramalakshmi and Trustee Mr. A. Shankar were also present for the occasion. The ceremony included the recitation of the pharmacist oath, reinforcing the ethical obligations of the profession. As an initiative to create awareness about drug abuse, pamphlets were released for circulation among the public. In honour of his service in community pharmacist profession, Mr.V. Sivasankaran was awarded as "The Community Pharmacist of the Year 2024". Also our Chairman was awarded as "Visionary Leader in Pharmaceutical Care" for his initiatives that empower pharmacist and left an indelible mark and has inspired many budding pharmacist. Our students depicted the Evolution of Pharmacy profession through a well organized mime performance.
