olves knowledge and expertise in the skills, materials and forms of understanding that they involve. It is possible to have a limited creative impact in some fields with little knowledge of them. But sustained creative achievement involves knowledge of the field in question and skills in the media concerned. Creativity in music requires increasing control in the production and dynamics of sound: creativity in mathematics or science requires increasing skills in numeracy. It is possible to teach all of these and not promote creative ability at all: indeed, to stifle it. But the alternative is not to disregard the teaching of skills and understanding, it is to recognize the mutual dependence of freedom and control at the heart of the creative process. Redefine aims to define this harmony between freedom and control and make the process stream-lined and understandable for every student. There’s always a tug of war between the pros and cons in every walk of life. A compliment is better realized when there’s criticism and we’ve always been proclaiming the glorious aspects of Indian education system. The knowledge they transfer to the students, the sharpness they impact on one’s brain fall under the pro category. As far as the evaluation criteria is concerned, we always have one hard pill to swallow, “Academics”. A system always works better with feedback. What if we have another methodology, which throws light on the real potential of a student? How do we make this process of education interesting and motivational? What measures do we take to throw light on every child’s unique skillset? This has always been one big problem statement running through several minds. We intend to tackle this challenge using a simple yet powerful idea “students help students”, thereby redefining education and revolutionizing the way in which people learn, grow and teach. In fact, “Education is a journey, not a race.”

What do we solve? As we see it, there is a gap in the way feedback flows in the conventional education system. Rather simply, how many of us who graduate out of the education system, give back what we learn? We intend to bridge the gap and solve the problem of these skilled resources not reaching the nook and corner of the student community (especially schools). We aim to target the government schools and connect them with the college community in order to expose the students to various skills/ideas/capabilities of university students. The platform will act as a regulation medium through which this interaction happens. Our target audience will be students of the age 10–15. This is a story of Kavi, a 12 year old girl studying in a government school in Chennai. She attends her class regularly. Although she is a talented students she is made to follow the rules of the textbooks only. She does not have exposure about what is going on around her in the world. Subjects like basic finance, politics, aerospace and arts like mime, dramatics, and dance are nothing but names. Obviously she has a number of options to learn these from, but nothing is free. She sees her mother trying so hard to even make their ends meet. She wouldn’t trouble her more. One day, a bunch of college students visit her class. They teach her magic. Kavi is very much interested. She attends these session for three months. She gets selected for a city-level magic show where she performs. She becomes proud of herself. We would love to imbibe this level of confidence and prestige in every child who’d be capable of satisfying the end’s meet despite a strong academic record but with an inbound talent. We shall put forth our best hands forward to discover the hidden potential. Hope you will join us in making these dreams come true.
