What does “Hope” mean for children hailing from the g***a abode of New Chennai, amidst drug peddlers, liquor abuse, and delinquent teenagers, themselves under the influence? It's hard for these children to believe that they too have a fair chance for the corporate “fruit”, that they settle for painting walls, fixing wires and plumbing, or beautifying urban folks of Chennai. They hesitate to aspire anything beyond the tenements of Kannagi Nagar.

Education is the only solution to an unending list of problems in our society! My isolated endeavors in ‘Education for the enrichment of youngsters’ were only a squirrel’s attempt until my path intersected with my tribe Ramesh Siva

“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!” What happens when forces join, it snowballs into unimaginable outcomes!

Thanks to the magnanimous trio at Grundfos Pumps India Private Ltd. - Ramesh Siva, Apoorva Manichandar, and Ravi Shankar P - for entrusting me to join their CSR force, relentlessly striving in pursuit of empowering the impoverished children of Kannagi Nagar & Ezhil Nagar, Chennai. To be a teeny-tiny part of Grundfos cause towards , especially for the marginalized sections of our society, was a gratifying experience.

Morarji Desai at Turning Point Educational Trust has been tenaciously offering support to children for years. A 6-week pilot for the children at the NGO, TurningPoint unraveled many new possibilities to enrich the youngsters at Kannagi Nagar and Ezhil Nagar.

Being a part of transforming the children’s mindset to “You too can” and showing the option of “Dreaming big” is a long haul. The first step was to expose them to the joy of hashtag , broadening their horizon beyond their settlement.

It was awespiring for these 33 kids to discover how fun speaking in English can be through and . Games and activities encouraged children to attempt speaking small sentences, reading & exchanging stories, and writing their thoughts. By the end of 6 weeks, it was rewarding to watch the teens come forward voluntarily to speak in English!

It was gratifying not just for successful completion, but having made a difference to the children who understand they have an equal chance in this society like the wealthy urban kids.
