That’s why INDO LOGIC is immensely proud to bring these two sessions celebrating Ancient and Modern India’s most glorious achievements in Science and technology! Right from plastic surgery to the decimal system to our ancient water conservation systems, India has pioneered them all and continues to do so in the last 75 years. Our achievements in space and IT technology will feature in a huge way in our workshop too.

There is this vast expanse within the walls of the Brahadeshwara or the Big temple as we fondly call it. It is an inspirational space that brings out the best in us…..different kinds of best. Here is our 13 year old Culture Scout trying to express the effect the legendary Vimana (the pyramidal temple tower) had on her ..

Small town pleasures…Leisurely walk around the legendary Mahamaham tank (when the entry was closed in evening), walking past the traditional Agraharam houses. The sight of nonchalant cows on the road reminded us of American groups we used to accompany. On their first day in Chennai, the first sight of a cow on the road, oblivious to the traffic it has blocked, used to horrify them, to our amusement😄

When we told our families that we were headed to Kumbakonam, one thing they all told us to buy on our way back - fresh vegetables! And what fresh and organically grown veggies at every corner of the winding roads! But that’s NOT what made us stop instantly at this shop… it was the huge bottle gourds.

Our destination expert Radhika added that earlier these gourds were used in Veena making to give support to the instrument when the musician is not holding it, by removing the fibrous matter inside and sun-drying it. Even our driver was so fascinated by it that we all bought these gourds to take home as our trophies!

Got around to sharing this post a little late.

But had to share the tiny sense of achievement we felt at VICHARA Kids when our Yoga teacher Devi told us this:

“Mahashivratri Special - our children in guided meditation followed by silence.

So proud of them! They were able to sit still for 12 min flat”, she proudly remarked after the session.

Can you imagine a bunch of energetic/agitated tweens or teenagers actually doing that for 12 mins and that too with full consciousness and awareness of what they are doing ?

That’s the power of Yoga and the core of how we have taught these kids to approach Yoga. That ability to delve into their Self and drawn upon a peace from within.

Imagine if we could manage to learn that from these kids too !
