International Yoga Day Celebration Report – S.S. Citizen School

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATION
Date: 20 June 2026 (Saturday)
Venue: School Playground

S.S. Citizen School celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers, parents, and management members. The program was organised under the guidance of Yoga In-Charge Mr B. Navinraj, whose efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

The celebration aimed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and awareness of the importance of yoga in daily life.

The event commenced with the Prayer Song, followed by the Pledge and a warm Welcome Address. The celebration was formally inaugurated with an inspiring speech by Ms. Padma Priya, who highlighted the significance of yoga in leading a healthy and balanced life.

A special Yoga Day Speech was delivered by Nishanth of Grade 10, emphasising the benefits of yoga for students and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The yoga session began with Warm-Up Exercises, preparing participants for the activities that followed. Students then performed a Mass Surya Namaskar Demonstration, showcasing synchronisation and discipline.

The yoga practice included:

Standing Postures , Sitting Postures, Breathing and Meditation Session

Students displayed remarkable flexibility, concentration, and confidence throughout the yoga activities.

The program also featured:

Individual Yoga Performances, Yoga Formation Performances.

Health Awareness Talk by Mrs Sangeetha from the Management, who spoke about the importance of regular exercise, healthy habits, and the role of yoga in maintaining overall well-being.

As part of the celebration, all participants took the Yoga Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Thiya of Grade 10, expressing gratitude to the management, the Yoga In-Charge, Mr B. Navinraj, teachers, students, and guests for making the celebration a grand success.

The program ended on a patriotic note with the singing of the National Anthem.

The International Yoga Day celebration at S.S. Citizen School was a memorable and enriching experience that inspired everyone to embrace yoga as a way of life for harmony, health, and happiness.
