Word on the street is that ex-Saarang 2014 Events core Samvita Kalyan will be standing for CulSec. Considering the allegations that she did not do much work, with her co-core being referred to by one angry LitSec as "the event core (singular)", we wonder what her chances are.
News is that the elections may not be as boring as last year!

Our beloved secretaries just love to be media darling
Why do common students generally hate institute secretaries at IIT Madras? Anonymous answer: Because we believe they misuse their power. I'll give just one example to prove my case. No one forgets the huge mishap regarding mess registration during Jul - Dec semester of 2013. Everyone was badly wanting to register to Food Court and there was a heavy competition for that...
Even semester is coming. Elections are coming.

It is just so sad to see the state of affairs during this years election. Just because you are unopposed does not mean you should go to individual wings and read out your manifestos and go clear their doubts. This is how you connect with the people / voters. Sadly none of the unopposed candidates deemed it necessary. What is more sad is that some of these secretaries did not even read out their manifestos for people of their own hostel. Do we really want such secretaries who from right this moment think that they are better than us the students? Should we not be given a right to decide as to whether we want them as our representatives in the executive council?
PS: What is worse is that you cannot find the manifestos of Cul Lit and HAS even on T5E website. So we have no idea as to what do they plan to do for us in the coming year.
