Our castle would crumble before us but that doesn’t mean it can’t be rebuilt, rebuilt for real, this time without the errors and a little more CAUTION.

Late to the Halloween party but I guess better late than never. I always stuck to doing mixed media and preferred colour pencils, pastel and water colours. This year I took a resolution to practice regularly and try different mediums. I decided to put my practice hours into practical use and I decided to do a full on gouache render for one of my jack o lantern character that I have been working on. Can’t wait to update some more characters I’ve been working on this year.

Longing to sketch karupaswamy / ayyanar and the want to sketch digitally merged into one. My first digital art work, completely done digitally from start to end. Love learning this new medium which I was always skeptical about how I would fit in because I have always been obsessed with manual sketching and painting. Looking forward to learn more.
definitely reduced the transition shock from paper to iPad like it was no different.

Experimenting layering, texture and digital techniques and ended up doing my take on a work done by my all time favourite needle queen . Thank you for being one of my inspirations and this is a small pictorial ode to your amazing composition of flowers.

‘M’ shaped mountains and a sun shining bright, lighting up the horizon in between never did we forget adding those two cotton candy cumulus clouds and birds soaring high in the beautiful blue sky. Water feature was a must and we put our common sense and the drew cascading river from the mountains with rocks on its path and green trees and meadows with flowers. Looks like as kids we all admired and learnt to respect nature and understood geography and science way better with observation as our teacher.
Where did we really loose it as we grew up ? Presenting a digital twist on every child’s first drawing, an ode to our childhood. Wonder what the first picture of kids of this concrete jungle would look like? 🤔

Beauty always lies in the eyes of the beholder. Did Michelangelo really scan through the block rejected several times and still stayed confident to chisel and set this yearning angel free ? Like I said earlier, I can never get over this work of his, as it always reminded me of what was possible and weighed out the burden of self doubt which is the actual serial killer whose been round for ages.

The gigantic David by Michelangelo who had his nerves popping out of his marble hand, with an oversized right hand that's symbolic of the strength in them, sharp features always took down any sort of negativity in me.

To every single creative mind out there, who are scared to express themselves. We don't have to post just for the sake of it. Do it so that someday somewhere someone finds their David who'd destroy their self doubt and insecurity.

MICHELANGELO ! The man who helped me carve out my niche and kept me occupied and pushed me and my capabilities further by inspiring and staying alive through his works, giving my thoughts and dreams a different perspective. The first time I ever read about him, was in my social studies book in 5th grade on a chapter about great European artists and creators. Since then, his works have always been my to go escapade.

David in particular is a sculpture that I can never get bored off. It is indeed a true masterpiece by this remarkable genius as the gigantic statue out of a single block of marble that was rejected several times by renowned sculptors of his time. Like he always believed "Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it" and proved it as he saw the angel in the marble and carved until he set him free.

When was the first time you heard about this genius and what made you feel inspired ? Let me know in the comments below.

If you're good at something, never do it for free!

They laugh at me because I'm different. I laugh at them because they're all the same.
The Joker - Heath Ledger

We always have those moments wondering why certain people are a certain way and why did they turn to be different than the rest ? Few choose to blame and call it 'situation' that turned them that way and few call it 'fate'. Good or bad to some extent it is a reflection of what you grew up seeing and ended up believing.

'Joker! ' Nothing can get more ironical with the name and his character description. Like the saying goes ' There is a little bit of goodness in everyone.' There are few character quotes of his which really is a good advice to people who hesitate and are afraid to put themselves out because of their past experience of jealousy, rudeness and incompetence marking it's territory. These really did change my life and I hope it does work its magic on you all too! Stand up for yourself and never hesitate to be YOU! Anyday, anytime, anywhere. Know that you are special, unique and amazing.

What was your perception of this character and what was your first impression about him? Let me know in the comments below.

Wreaths have always been something that I admire. As they, to me are something that's really beautiful and always has a perfect balance and conveys a lot of symbolism. The different textures of the wreath like the hard vines that serves as the base, soft pastel or vibrant flowers, then shiny berries, interesting pine cones and the intertwining greens and what not, evokes different emotions and to me represents different state of mind of people in general. We often have our lives compared to circles as events that happen in our lives are a teeny bit cyclic and sequential. So nothing's permanent and I guess as long as we do what our heart is passionate about in any situation, we would really be unstoppable and indestructible. Always have faith in what you do.

We from team vinaiooki present you this wreath and we wish you a Happy New Year 2020! May this year be more positive and propel us furthermore towards our dreams. What are your thoughts on wreaths and do let's us know in the comments below.

This amazing wreath was painted by another amazing talent on board. Do follow her for more such beautiful works :)

Twitchy head hinge, magic wiggling slender neck, flamboyant sass glider, elegant egg end, knobbly bobbler, dazzling slender candy cane like legs are all the fancy ways to describe. But, the first thing that strikes any lay man's mind, is that, it would scream " PINK ! " and my mind as a child was nothing different from that. They are one of the most social birds and a flock of them is called flamboyance. Flamingoes are one of the very few birds who are brought up by both their parents since the time the eggs are being laid and they're monogamous.

Flamingoes have more to offer than just pink. They have different shades ranging from red to pink to orange and specs of black and grey highlights. Color is a resultant of their food diet which consists of algae, shrimp and other crustaceans. Major lesson that they teach us through this is that "we become what we consume through our senses". Hence consume good things through your senses.

One of my favourite quotes that inspired me about them and helped me get out of the bubble I built around myself was " Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons." When you are born to stand out don't try too hard to fit yourself into a template. It's okay to be different. But this doesn't mean you need to be alone to stand out. Shine bright because of your good deeds, being the best at what you do, in being kind to one another, in being trustworthy to someone who loves you and cares about you unconditionally.

What is your favourite fact about this bird and what is the first thought that comes to your mind when you think of it. Let me know in the comments below.
