Ever wondered what it feels like to step into a time machine like in The Magic School Bus? That’s exactly what our students did on History Day!

Our PYP-1A stars transformed into legendary inventors like Thomas Alva Edison, Marie Curie, and the Wright Brothers, proudly sharing the stories behind their groundbreaking creations. Meanwhile, our EYP-2 explorers embraced the spirit of tribal leaders and majestic kings and queens, immersing themselves in their rich heritage and tales.

Through costumes, storytelling, and boundless enthusiasm, our young historians didn’t just learn about history – they lived it!

One of our favorite Christmas traditions has always been decorating the tree with tiny stars, shimmering snowflakes, jingling bells, and little Santa Claus figurines small enough to fit in our pockets.

At Ela, we add a special touch to this tradition by blending it with a sustainable mindset. This year, our eco-friendly Christmas tree installation was crafted entirely from recycled plastic tarpaulin to highlight the seemingly growing use of plastic in our lives.

We hope our installation inspires you to rethink plastic use in everyday life, from carrying reusable bags to the store to creating art with a purpose, just like we did! 🎄🎄

Ever watched a mime performance that moves you like an unforgettable scene from Charlie Chaplin’s classics or reminds you of the raw emotions from your favorite Pixar movie?

That’s exactly what our PYP 2 students brought to life during their Student-Led Conference at Ela Green School.

With the themes "Who We Are" and "How We Express Ourselves," our young learners dived deep into the world of emotions and art, curating a unique experience through MIME performances. Their expressive gestures, silent storytelling, and heartfelt creativity spoke volumes about their understanding of emotions and the power of performing arts.

Moments like these remind us how beautifully children see the world - simple, meaningful, and full of wonder.

If Hogwarts had a magical cooking class, it would look a lot like this!

It all began with a spark of excitement as our young chefs at Ela Green’s Cooking Club stepped into their “kitchen classroom,” ready to create a little magic. Just like Harry and his friends mastering spells, these students took on their own culinary challenges with aprons tied tight and spatulas in hand.

The session started with learning the basics of chopping veggies with precision, measuring ingredients like potion masters, and mixing flavors into harmony. Slowly, their kitchen counters transformed into bustling stations of creativity. Laughter echoed as they worked together, sharing ideas, solving tiny cooking dilemmas, and adding their own twists to each dish.

Finally, the moment of truth arrived: tasting their magical creations. The pride in their eyes said it all, this wasn’t just about cooking. It was about discovering new skills, building confidence, and finding joy in the little things, like sprinkling the perfect garnish or plating with flair.

Our young archaeologists at Ela Green School had their own thrilling adventure during the recent excavation activity! As part of their Unit of Inquiry, they carefully unearthed hidden artifacts, connecting with the painstaking work of real-world archaeologists who bring history to life.

Every brushstroke and discovery sparked curiosity, thoughtful discussions, and a deeper respect for preserving our shared heritage. The students learned that history is not just a record of the past, but a reflection of who we are today.

Parents, worry not about which lullaby to sing tonight, because at Ela, the students are composing their own melodies, ones that could even make the moon go to sleep.

Our music facilitator, Jackson, guides students through keyboard lessons with patience and consistent practice, helping each child find their own tempo and style. PYP-4B students are now diving into tunes that feel like morning sunshine slipping through curtains - warm and brimming with possibility. They are decoding chords - major and minor and learning to combine them seamlessly!

Manifesting that one day, our students will be composing songs that send concert box offices into a frenzy.
