Dhammapada - Verse 194

Sukho_buddhānaṃ_uppado.
Happy is the arising of the Buddhas in the world.
(Buddhuo pudi udona sukh)

Sukhā saddhammadesanā.
Happy is the teaching of pure Dhamma.
(Dhammadesona sunona sukh)

Sukhā saṇghassa sāmaggī
Happy is the coming together of meditators.
(Bhavona goriyehgun egotta thana sukh)

Samaggānaṃ tapo sukho
Happiness is meditating together.

This sacca-kiriyā (solemn declaration of truth) was uttered by Guruji, in Kushinagar during a pilgrimage, while chanting mettā bhāvanā during a one-hour group meditation:

I take refuge in the Buddha,I take refuge in the Buddha,
I take refuge in the Buddha alone and no one else.
By the power of this truth, by the power of this truth;
By the power of this truth, may Dhamma arise.

I take refuge in Dhamma, I take refuge in Dhamma
I take refuge in Dhamma alone and nothing else.
By the power of this truth, by the power of this truth;
By the power of this truth, may Dhamma spread.

I take refuge in Saṅgha, I take refuge in Saṅgha,
I take refuge in Saṅgha alone and no one else.
By the power of this truth, by the power of this truth;
By the power of this truth, may Dhamma be established.
May all be happy, may all be happy.

Blessed is the land of Dhamma,
blessed is the sacred country;
Where pure Dhamma arises again,
for dissolving sufferings of the world.

What is happiness? For all that science has achieved in the field of materialism, are the peoples of the world happy? They may find sensual pleasures off and on, but in their hearts of hearts, they are not happy when they realise what has happened, and what may happen next. Why? This is because, while man has mastery over matter, he is still lacking in mastery over his mind.
