Little Stars Shine Bright: Fancy Dress Competition at DPS Chas, Bokaro
Delhi Public School, Chas, Bokaro, hosted a vibrant Fancy Dress Competition on 20th August 2026 for its youngest learners of Pre-Nursery and Class I. The event began with a warm Tilak welcome, followed by the ceremonial Lamp Lighting and a melodious Welcome Song leading into the School Song, setting a joyous tone for the celebrations.
The competition was graced by three distinguished and esteemed judges — Ms. Toral Bansal, Principal of Euro Kids Play School; Mr. Khurshid Jamal, Principal of Euro Kids International School; and Mr. Sushil Tripathi, Director of ABC Pathshala. The little participants captivated everyone with confident presentations, beautifully portraying their chosen themes through creative costumes and props. An enchanting Orchestra Presentation added musical charm to the occasion, followed by enthusiastic Parents' Presentation, where the participating parents were warmly felicitated for their creative contribution and support.
In her concluding address, The Director and Principal Dr. Manisha Tiwari commended all the young children for speaking and performing exceedingly well, praising their confidence, clarity, and stage presence at such a tender age. She further emphasized that girls must be nurtured to be just as strong, courageous, and self-assured as boys. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by the head boy and head girl of the school, leaving everyone inspired.

Inter-House English Extempore Competition 🎤✨

Where Thoughts Find Their Voice!

The Inter-House English Extempore Competition was organized at DPS, Chas with great enthusiasm and intellectual fervour, providing students with a dynamic platform to express their thoughts, opinions and perspectives without prior preparation. The competition aimed to nurture spontaneity, confidence, clarity of thought and effective communication ,essential skills for the leaders and communicators of tomorrow.

The event commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished judges, the respected Director and Principal Dr. Manisha Tiwari , teachers and enthusiastic participants. Setting the tone for the competition, the opening remarks highlighted the essence of extempore speaking: “Extempore is not about having the perfect words; it is about having the courage to speak when the words are not prepared.”

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from A***n, Akansha, Naira, Jitendra, Saksham, Chinmay, Keshavdev and Nivriti. Each participant was given a topic on the spot and a limited time to organize their thoughts before presenting them before the audience.

The topics were thoughtfully chosen around contemporary issues, technology, social awareness, education, sports, global affairs and everyday student experiences. The participants demonstrated remarkable confidence, spontaneity and originality. Their performances reflected not merely their command over language, but also their awareness, reasoning ability, creativity and capacity to think on their feet.

The judges evaluated the participants on parameters such as content, relevance, fluency, confidence, pronunciation, expression, originality and overall presentation. Each speaker brought a distinctive perspective to the competition, making the event intellectually stimulating and engaging.

After careful deliberation, Akansha of class XII emerged as the Winner, delivering a confident and compelling performance that impressed the judges. Saksham of class XI was declared the Runner-up, earning appreciation for his clarity, presence of mind and effective delivery.

The competition concluded on an inspiring note, celebrating not only the winners but every participant who stepped forward and dared to speak without a script. The event beautifully reinforced the idea that great speakers are not simply those who know what to say, but those who can think, adapt and communicate when the moment demands it.

DPS Chas, Bokaro Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour
Bokaro: Delhi Public School, Chas, Bokaro, celebrated the nation’s 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, national pride, and cultural enthusiasm. The students enthralled the gathering with soulful patriotic songs and captivating instrumental performances.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The students then presented inspiring patriotic songs such as “Vande Mataram,” “Sare Jahan Se Achha,” “Hind Desh Ke Niwasi,” “Hoga Kal Sunhara,” and “Hum Honge Kamyab.” The presentation of “Guru Charanan Ki” added a spiritual and cultural dimension to the celebrations.
The instrumental performance by the students was one of the major highlights of the programme. The melodious patriotic tunes played on various musical instruments filled the entire atmosphere with a deep sense of patriotism and national pride.
In his message on the occasion, Pro-Vice Chairman Shri Rajesh Agarwal said that Independence Day reminds us of the sacrifice, struggle, and dedication of the great freedom fighters whose relentless efforts gave us the privilege of living in an independent India. He added that the occasion also inspires us to discharge our duties and responsibilities towards the nation with sincerity and dedication. He emphasised that developing a sense of patriotism, discipline, unity, and responsibility among students is an important objective of education.
On the occasion, Director/Principal Dr. Manisha Tiwari said that Independence Day is an opportunity to remember the sacrifice, struggle, and contribution of the great freedom fighters. She urged the students, teachers, and non-teaching staff to uphold the values of freedom and make excellence in their work, sensitivity towards society, and commitment to the nation their highest priorities.
Shri Suresh Agarwal, Secretary, D.S. Memorial Society, Chas, also extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the entire school fraternity on the occasion of Independence Day.

Celebrating the Spirit of Independence: Special Assembly at DPS Chas

DPS Chas organized a special assembly on the theme “Independence Day” to celebrate the spirit of patriotism and honour the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. The programme began with a prayer by the Director and Principal ,Dr.Manisha Tiwari followed by the pledge, thought of the day and the presentation of important news. Students presented a meaningful poem and an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of freedom, unity and responsibility.
An important part of the assembly was the certificate distribution ceremony. Certificates were presented to students for their achievements in the Aryabhatta Mathematics Competition, Pratidhwani, Vikram Sarabhai Science Foundation Award, (SPOT 100 GENII), SIP Abacus (Road Safety) and Aakar Art Fest. The Silver Zone School Award ,Best Class Award, and prestigious Academic Leadership Excellence Award were also presented.

The programme concluded with an inspiring address by the Director and Principal, followed by the melodious school song. The assembly was a memorable celebration of patriotism, achievement and school spirit.
