The School of Law, NMIMS Chandigarh, had the privilege of hosting Mr. Tanuj Kalia, CEO, Lawctopus, for an insightful and engaging session on Meta Skills. From navigating the early years of law school to becoming job-ready and career-ready, the session brought valuable perspectives on the skills, mindset and professional approach required to thrive in the evolving legal landscape.

The interaction was thoughtfully curated for students across 1st, 3rd and 5th Year, addressing different stages of their law school journey from building strong foundations and exploring opportunities to preparing for professional life. With practical insights, candid conversations and an engaging exchange with students, the session encouraged our learners to look beyond textbooks and actively develop the skills that shape successful legal careers.

Strengthening Legal Research Skills at NMIMS Chandigarh

The NMIMS Chandigarh Library organised a specialised SCC Online Database Training Session for students of the School of Law, introducing them to the tools and techniques needed for effective digital legal research.

The session covered case law research, judgments, statutes, citations, and advanced search techniques, helping students navigate SCC Online and make more effective use of its extensive legal resources.

Through such initiatives, the Library continues to foster digital literacy, research proficiency, and independent academic learning, empowering students with the skills needed to explore, analyse, and engage with legal knowledge more effectively.

Expert Lecture on Meta Skills

The School of Law, SVKM’s NMIMS, Chandigarh, is organising an insightful expert lecture as part of the Meta Skills Course for Semester IX.

The session will be led by Mr. Tanuj Kalia, Founding CEO, Lawctopus, and a distinguished Legal Professional, Entrepreneur, Educator & Mentor.

The lecture will explore the importance of Meta Skills in developing a well-rounded professional mindset and preparing students to navigate the evolving demands of the legal profession.

The Installation Ceremony of the Rotaract Club of the School of Law, NMIMS Chandigarh Campus, marked the beginning of a promising new chapter dedicated to leadership, collaboration, community engagement, and meaningful service.

We were deeply honoured by the gracious presence of Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Director, NMIMS Chandigarh Campus; Dr. Tanmeet Sahiwal, Program Chairperson, School of Law; and Dr. Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean, School of Law. Their encouragement and support made the occasion truly memorable.

We were equally privileged to welcome our esteemed guests from the Rotary and Rotaract fraternity: Rtn. Renu Chopra, President, Rotary Club Chandigarh Midtown; Rtn. Shashi Jain, Director, Youth Services; Rtn. Salil Chopra; DRR Rtr. Purandhi Gupta; and Rtn./Rtr. Aman Garg. Their inspiring words, encouragement, and invaluable support strengthened our resolve to undertake purposeful initiatives and foster impactful collaborations in the year ahead.

NMIMS Chandigarh Hosts Anviksha – The Epoch 2026

SVKM’s NMIMS Chandigarh successfully hosted Anviksha – The Epoch 2026, a student-led technology fest that brought together young innovators, problem-solvers and technology enthusiasts from institutions across India.

The fest featured an exciting line-up of challenges spanning technology, coding, cybersecurity, robotics, gaming, strategy and problem-solving, offering participants an opportunity to put their skills to the test, collaborate with peers and tackle real-world challenges in a competitive environment.

The event witnessed participation from students of NMIMS Chandigarh, NMIMS Mumbai and NMIMS Hyderabad, alongside students from leading institutions including IIT Ropar, PEC, Panjab University, Chandigarh University, Chitkara University, Lovely Professional University, Thapar Institute, Amity University, Shoolini University and Plaksha University, among others.

The competitive spirit reached its peak with the recognition of winners across key events such as Secret Seekers, Robo Soccer, Algorithm Auction and Robo Race, where participants demonstrated technical expertise, strategic thinking, creativity and teamwork.

Beyond competition, Anviksha – The Epoch 2026 provided a platform for students to learn, innovate and collaborate, reinforcing the importance of innovation, adaptability, teamwork and continuous learning in an evolving technological landscape.

With technology brought to life through hands-on challenges and collaborative experiences, Anviksha 2026 encouraged students to move beyond the classroom, think differently and build solutions for the future.

A Proud Milestone in Research Excellence!

School of Law, NMIMS (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh Campus, proudly congratulates Dr. Sonia Grewal Mahal, Assistant Professor in Law, on the successful completion of her research scholar’s Ph.D. journey.

Her research scholar, Dr. Jharna Sahijwani, who has been under her guidance and supervision since October 2022, successfully completed her Ph.D. and was conferred the doctoral degree on 25th August 2026 at the Convocation Ceremony held at NMIMS, Mumbai.

This achievement marks a significant milestone as Dr. Jharna Sahijwani is the first research scholar to successfully complete her Ph.D. across all Law Campuses of NMIMS.

Research supervision goes beyond academic guidance—it is about nurturing independent thinking, building confidence, overcoming challenges, and supporting scholars through the demanding journey of doctoral research. This accomplishment reflects the dedication, perseverance, and academic commitment of both the research supervisor and the scholar.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the esteemed Higher Authorities and Dr. Durgambini Patel, Dean, KPMSOL, NMIMS, Mumbai, for providing Dr. Sonia Grewal Mahal with the opportunity to guide this doctoral research.
