With the successful conclusion of Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 at NMIMS Chandigarh, we celebrate not only six days of learning and development but also the spirit of teamwork, camaraderie, and employee engagement that made this journey truly memorable.

Throughout the week, a series of sports activities including Table Tennis, Badminton, Carrom, Chess, and Pool Billiards were organized for our staff members. The enthusiastic participation and healthy competition highlighted the importance of maintaining a balance between work and recreation. The winners and runners-up were felicitated by Dr. Jyotsna Singh, Campus Director, and Mr. Abhinav Kaushik, Deputy Registrar, NMIMS Chandigarh Campus, in recognition of their sporting spirit and achievements.

The programme concluded on 13 June 2026 with a variety of team-building activities and fun-filled sessions, where staff members enthusiastically participated in riddles, musical chairs, interactive games, and collaborative team challenges. The celebrations were further enlivened by singing and dancing performances, creating moments of joy, connection, and lasting memories.

SDP 2.0 reaffirmed that while professional development enhances our capabilities, it is teamwork, trust, and shared experiences that truly strengthen an organization. A heartfelt thank you to our leadership, resource persons, coordinators, sports coordinators, and all participants for making this initiative a grand success.

As we concluded Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 at NMIMS Chandigarh, the final day brought together sessions that reinforced the importance of continuous learning, well-being, and workplace excellence.

The day commenced with an informative session by Ms. Neha Balodi, Assistant Librarian, who familiarized participants with the various library resources and services available, including e-books, digital databases, and other facilities that support lifelong learning and professional development.

This was followed by an engaging session by Ms. Jasmine Ahluwalia, Psychologist, on Psychological Well-being and Self-Reflection. Through creative exercises and self-personality assessments, participants were encouraged to reflect on their strengths, understand themselves better, and recognize the importance of prioritizing mental and emotional well-being.

Our Campus Medical Officer, Dr. Ashok Bansal, then conducted an insightful session on Health and Fitness, emphasizing the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices to reduce health risks, maintain overall well-being, and respond effectively during emergency situations.

The final learning session of SDP 2.0 was delivered by Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Placement Coordinator, on Workplace Excellence. He highlighted the significance of teamwork, organizational behaviour, and the mindset shift from continuous growth to continual growth—encouraging participants to embrace learning, adaptability, and improvement as an ongoing journey.

As SDP 2.0 comes to a close, we reflect on six enriching days filled with knowledge sharing, collaboration, self-discovery, and professional development. The programme reaffirmed that institutional excellence is built through collective effort, continuous learning, and the commitment of every individual towards creating a positive impact.

A heartfelt thank you to all our resource persons, participants, coordinators, and leadership for making SDP 2.0 a meaningful and memorable experience.

Day 5 of Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 at NMIMS Chandigarh was a comprehensive learning experience, focusing on strengthening institutional processes, enhancing collaboration, and promoting workplace safety among our non-teaching staff.

The day began with an insightful session by Mr. Nitesh, Assistant Accountant, who familiarized participants with various financial processes, reimbursement procedures, and the importance of timely and accurate documentation in ensuring smooth administrative functioning.

This was followed by an engaging session by Mr. Abhishek Mehta, Assistant Director – Placements, who highlighted the vital role of the Placement Department in the growth and reputation of the institution. He emphasized the support required from various non-teaching departments and how collective efforts contribute to creating successful placement outcomes for students.

The next session was conducted by our Academic Coordinators, Mr. Sumit Kumar and Ms. Shabnam Patyal, who provided valuable insights into the student lifecycle, the Query Management System, and the role played by different departments in delivering a seamless and positive student experience. They reinforced the idea that every non-teaching staff member contributes significantly to student satisfaction and institutional excellence.

The day concluded with an important Fire and Safety Training Session led by Mr. Sachin Singh, Fire and Safety Officer. Participants learned about different classes of fire and the appropriate methods to combat them using suitable fire extinguishers. The session also covered key aspects of emergency preparedness, including raising an alarm promptly, following evacuation procedures, identifying emergency exits, and understanding that ensuring personal safety and staying calm are critical during emergencies.

As SDP 2.0 moves towards its conclusion, these sessions continue to strengthen our collective understanding that operational excellence, collaboration, and safety are shared responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the institution.

Day 4 of Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 at NMIMS Chandigarh focused on strengthening communication and enhancing operational understanding among our non-teaching staff.

The day commenced with an engaging session by Dr. Aparajita Ray Sukul, Visiting Faculty (Communications), NMIMS Chandigarh, on Communication Skills and Professional Etiquettes. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, she highlighted the importance of effective communication in the workplace. The session covered the ACT Framework for Effective Communication, verbal and non-verbal communication, meeting and email etiquette, and the significance of providing satisfactory feedback to ensure meaningful interactions and stronger professional relationships.

This was followed by an insightful session by Ms. Nidhi Tiwari, Examination Coordinator, who familiarized participants with the examination processes and emphasized the crucial role played by non-teaching staff in the smooth and successful conduct of examinations.

As SDP 2.0 progresses, these sessions continue to equip our staff with the knowledge, skills, and awareness required to contribute effectively towards institutional excellence.

Day 3 of Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 at NMIMS Chandigarh focused on strengthening institutional understanding and enhancing workplace productivity.

The first session was delivered by our Mr. Abhinav Kaushik, Deputy Registrar, who provided valuable insights into the higher education ecosystem, covering types of universities, statutory bodies, key administrative positions, administrative functions, professional conduct, and workplace expectations.

This was followed by an engaging session by Mr. Sachin Dhiman, Maintenance Officer, who shared practical knowledge on UDMS, administrative processes, and the effective use of Microsoft Excel, including features such as Mail Merge, to improve efficiency and productivity in day-to-day operations.

The sessions provided participants with both institutional awareness and practical tools to excel in their professional roles.

Day 2 of the Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 at NMIMS Chandigarh was dedicated to enhancing employees’ understanding of institutional policies, digital HR systems, and employee welfare initiatives.

The session began with an informative and engaging session by Mr. Shah Faisal, who provided a comprehensive overview of the institution’s HR policies, procedures, and best practices. His session covered key aspects such as leave management, employee benefits, workplace conduct, performance-related processes, and policy compliance. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, he helped employees gain greater clarity on organizational guidelines, enabling them to navigate HR processes more effectively and confidently.

This was followed by a hands-on orientation to the Oracle Portal, where employees were guided through the platform’s key functionalities, including attendance management, leave applications, employee records, and other HR-related services. The session equipped participants with the knowledge required to efficiently utilize the digital system in their day-to-day professional responsibilities.

An insightful session by Mr. Sachin Dhiman, focused on the importance of Health Insurance, employee benefits, and healthcare awareness. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the available coverage, claim processes, and the significance of safeguarding the well-being of employees and their families. Additionally, Mr. Sachin Dhiman, Maintenance Officer, highlighted various employee welfare policies and support initiatives aimed at promoting a positive and secure work environment.

The interactive sessions encouraged active participation, knowledge sharing, and meaningful discussions, reflecting NMIMS Chandigarh’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional excellence, and employee empowerment.

Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 Commences at NMIMS Chandigarh | 8th June 2026

NMIMS Chandigarh successfully commenced Staff Development Program (SDP) 2.0 on 8th June 2026, reaffirming its commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and institutional excellence.

The program was inaugurated under the visionary leadership of Prof (Dr.) Jyotsna Singh, Campus Director, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty and staff members across the campus. In her address, Dr. Singh emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and readiness for the upcoming academic session.

The inaugural day also featured a briefing by Mr. Shah Faisal, HR Manager, who outlined the series of activities, learning sessions, and engagement initiatives planned throughout the week as part of SDP 2.0.

Further enriching the program, Dr. Tanmeet Kaur Sahiwal, Program Chairperson, School of Law, conducted an insightful session on the POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Policy, highlighting its significance, legal framework, and role in creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace environment.

Through initiatives like SDP 2.0, NMIMS Chandigarh continues to invest in the growth and development of its people, strengthening the foundation for academic and administrative excellence.
