Demon core incident
It's a reference to the Demon Core incident which caused the death of 2 US scientists:
Demon core was a plutonium sphere crafted for the Manahattan project and was supposed to be used in the 3rd nuclear bomb dropped on Japan but Japan surrendered before the drop, so it was instead used in Los Alamos to demonstrate how the core comes closer to supercriticality (uncontrolable nuclear reaction) the more you closed the 2 hemispheres of neutron reflectors.
First death was caused in 1945, because a physisist dropped a reflector on the core... sad accident, nothing to joke about, maybe be the most horrifying way to die in 25 days.
HOWEVER, the second death in 1946 happened because a GENIUS handled the top hemispherical reflector with a GODDAM SCREW DRIVER. Obviously it slipped, closed the relfectors around the core => it went supercritical => burst of neutron/gamma radiation => that guy died in 9 days. It's now a meme among nuclear scientists

Will it go up or down ?

The "Towers," as they are commonly known by residents on campus, are located at the University of Pittsburgh. Designed by the architecture firm Deeter and Richtie in 1963, the Litchfield Towers serve as the primary residences for students at the university.

Comprising three separate concrete towers (A, B, and C), each with different capacities, the Towers together can accommodate almost 2,000 students. Tower B, standing at 22 stories, is the largest of the three.

All the brutalist towers are built on a three-story base, which houses a large mess hall, or cafeteria, capable of serving 14,000 students at a time. Additionally, there is a parking garage on the base level.
