A plot of land in Hadam malla, Chamba was purchased on 25th June 1995. A school named Carmel started functioning on 11th July 1996. Fr.

The DST sisters offered their services in the school and three of them joined the school staff on June 22, 1998. George Edathiparambil was the first Director of this centre.
