The Faculty of Education conducted the University Practical Examination for the First Year B.Ed. students on 20.05.2026 at 10.00 a.m.
Dr. R. Sahaya Mary, Associate Professor, Dept. of Physical Science, Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, Saidapet served as the External Examiner and evaluated the students along with the faculty members. The assessment was carried out based on the submission of practical records and the students’ performance in the viva voce examination.
The External Examiner assessed the students’ practical understanding, subject knowledge, presentation of records, and responses during the viva voce. The students answered the questions confidently and actively, reflecting their preparation and competency.
The practical examination was conducted smoothly and successfully with the cooperation of the faculty members and students. We express our sincere gratitude to our Honorable President Sir for the support and encouragement extended in organizing the practical examination for the First Year B.Ed. students. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to all the executives for their continuous guidance and motivation.

The Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, conducted a Book Review Competition on 20th April 2026. Students from various departments actively participated and presented insightful reviews on notable books.

Winners:

First: Mr. Aashik Kumar (I Year, Political Science)
Second: Mr. Nagarjun (I Year, Law)
Third: Ms. Lavanya (II Year, Political Science)

Greetings from Faculty of Education!
We are delighted to present a report on the Book Review Competition organized by the Faculty of Education, Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, held on 20th April 2026.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by an inspiring speech by the Principal, who emphasized the significance of reading and the unique benefits it offers. She highlighted how good books contribute to personal growth and broaden perspectives.
Students from various departments of the Phase II campus actively participated in the event. They showcased thorough preparation while presenting reviews on a diverse selection of thought-provoking books, including The Psychology of Money, The Silent Patient, White Nights, Who Moved My Cheese, and Annihilation of Caste. Through their insightful presentations, participants not only inspired their peers to cultivate reading habits but also emphasized the numerous advantages of reading.

The Faculty of Education conducted Day 2 of the University Practical Examination for the second-year B.Ed. students on 17.04.2024.
Dr. Ponmalini, Associate Professor, Loyola College of Education, Chennai, served as the External Examiner, along with a panel of faculty members who undertook the evaluation of the students’ teaching competency.
The External Examiner observed and assessed the students based on their lesson planning, subject content, presentation skills and their responses during the viva voce. The students answered the questions with confidence and clarity, demonstrating their competence and preparedness.

Respected Sir/Madam,

The Faculty of Education successfully conducted Day 1 of the University Practical Examination for the second-year B.Ed. students on 16.04.2026.

We were privileged to have Dr. Ponmalini, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Loyola College of Education, Chennai, as the External Examiner. She was accompanied by a panel of faculty members who actively participated in the evaluation process.

During the examination, students presented a variety of teaching aids, including charts, flashcards, as well as working and non-working models. The External Examiner assessed the students based on the quality and creativity of their teaching aids, the maintenance of their records, and their performance in the viva voce. The students responded to the questions with clarity and confidence, reflecting their strong subject knowledge and pedagogical competence.

Report on Technology Talk

The Faculty of Education (B.Ed.), Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, organized a Technology Talk on the topic “From Chalk Board to Dashboard (E-Content in Education)” on 11th April 2026 from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at the Smart Room, Phase II Campus, Adayalampattu, Maduravoyal, Chennai.

The session was delivered by Mr. Bergin G, Content Creator in State Council of Educational Research and Training and PGT in Physics at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Ramanathapuram. The resource person provided valuable insights into the transformation of traditional teaching methods into digital and technology-enabled practices.

The talk emphasized the importance of E-content in modern education, highlighting various tools and techniques that enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. The speaker explained how educators can move from conventional chalkboard methods to digital dashboards using innovative platforms and resources. He also demonstrated the use of modern digital tools such as PhET Interactive Simulations for virtual experiments, Wayground for engaging assessments, Suno for creative content integration, ElevenLabs for voice-based teaching materials, and Camtasia for developing high-quality instructional videos.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts. Practical examples and live demonstrations shared by the speaker enriched the learning experience and motivated future teachers to adopt technology effectively in their classrooms. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. It proved to be highly informative and beneficial in equipping students with essential digital teaching skills.

🎊The Faculty of Education (B.Ed.) is pleased to organize a Book Review Competition for Undergraduate students.🎊

💫All interested students are invited to participate and showcase their reading, analytical and presentation skills.💫

Date: 20th April, 2026

Eligibility
• Open to all Undergraduate (UG) Students

Venue
• K102 – Smart Room, Phase II Campus, Adayalampattu

Awards
• Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three performers

General Instructions
• Participants may choose any published book (fiction / non-fiction).
• The book may be originally written in any language.

• The competition will be conducted in a two-step process:
o Written Review
o Oral Presentation

*Competition Schedule & Guidelines
* 11.00 a.m. – 11.30 a.m. | Written Review
• The review must be written in English.
• Word limit: 800–1200 words.

• The review should include:
o Title and author of the book
o Summary of the content
o Analysis / critique
o Personal opinion

11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. | Oral Presentation
• Each participant will be given 7 minutes for presentation.
