In this podcast Lamia Lulu and Farzana Fathima explore the realities of marginalization and social backwardness through the lenses of media, development, and contemporary social dynamics. Drawing from their academic research conducted at Ibn Al Haytham Academy, the discussion examines how social structures, representation, and systemic inequalities continue to shape communities and public discourse.

This podcast is part of their wider research project, which was later presented at various Central Universities across India, contributing to important conversations on society, inclusion, and media studies.

What happens when poetry refuses silence and laughter refuses neutrality?

Zenha Firoz and Amna Fatima discuss their project.

This episode brings together two powerful conversations: Zenha explores how Miya poetry confronts erasure, asking urgent political questions while echoing resistance traditions shaped by struggle from Assam to فلسطين. Amna, on the other hand, unpacks stand up comedy as far from “just humor,” framing laughter itself as a political act one that challenges power, disrupts comfort, and reclaims voice.

Alvida, but not goodbye.

We’ve seen it all.
Your struggles in making extra effort for our lectures after your regular college classes.
Your happiness when your papers got selected for conferences.
Your late night learning sessions and the panic, your exam stresses , your silent tears, and your loudest comebacks.

In these three years, we watched you become who you are today and we couldn’t be prouder.

As your teachers, as your academy, we hope we were useful to you. We know we weren’t perfect. We might have fallen short. We might have said the wrong thing, pushed too hard, or missed something you needed. For that, we ask your understanding. The truth is, we were learning with you too.

You are our first batch. You trusted us when we were just a name, an idea. You gave us a chance to prove what this place could be.

Thank you for choosing us.
Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you for taking this journey with us.

Wherever life takes you next, may you become everything you dream of. May your path be purposeful, and your impact be real. May you never stop seeking, speaking, and standing for what’s right.

This will always be your home.
You walked in as students.
You leave as our pride.

With love and gratitude,
Ibn Al Haytham Academy
