Rip Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa
September 27, 1950 – December 4, 2025) was a Japanese-American actor, martial artist, and film producer.
He was best known for portraying the sorcerer Shang Tsung in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film (and reprising the role in Mortal Kombat: Legacy and Mortal Kombat 11), as well as notable supporting roles in films like The Last Emperor (1987), Licence to Kill (1989), Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), Rising Sun (1993), The Phantom (1996), Memoirs of a Geisha (2005), and 47 Ronin (2013)
