World Environment Day Class I
On the occasion of World Environment Day, the school organized various meaningful environmental awareness activities to encourage sustainable living and care for nature. The students of Class I enthusiastically participated in activities such as feeding birds, segregation of dry and wet waste through the Twin Bin System, and the Guthli Project.
Through the bird-feeding activity, students were encouraged to place water bowls and bird feed in open spaces to support local bird populations, especially during the hot summer season. This activity helped create awareness about biodiversity conservation and the importance of coexisting harmoniously with all living beings.
Another important initiative was the promotion of the Twin Bin System for waste segregation. Students learned how to separate biodegradable (wet) waste and non-biodegradable (dry) waste using two different bins. The activity emphasized responsible waste management, recycling, composting, and reducing environmental pollution.
The Guthli Project further reinforced the message of World Environment Day by encouraging students to save and plant fruit seeds, thereby contributing to a greener environment. The project helped children understand the importance of trees and inspired them to take small but meaningful steps towards environmental conservation.
These activities successfully conveyed the message of World Environment Day: “Protect Nature, Reduce Waste, and Build a Sustainable Future.” The event inspired students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives and become responsible stewards of the environment.
