DPS Bokaro organizes Awareness Programme for the students of the Primary Wing on Child Safety and Abstinence from Cyber Abuse
DPS Bokaro organized an Awareness Programme under the mentorship of Sangeeta Kumari, Officer-in–Charge Sector VI Police Station, Bokaro Steel City. She explained that childhood is the most vital stage of a student’s life and one malicious scar or a bruise may leave a deeper imprint on the psyche of the innocent children and cast a dark shadow on their future. The future of a nation lies in the hands of children so one needs to be really vigilant about their safety and security.
Children are soft targets and highly vulnerable to social malpractices hence they need to be protected by every means possible from the ‘bad touches’ that are intimidating in nature may cause their blooming individuality to shrivel and wither untimely. A child must never allow himself or herself to be touched by anyone apart from the mother. No relative, near or distant and strangers must never be allowed to touch them. Self-defense is the ultimate weapon to combat such situations. Keeping oneself protected from the clutches of vulgarity and raising voice in self-defense is the most effective means to keep oneself protected. Both Boys and girls need to be conscious about their surroundings and abstain from getting lured by any stranger or a near or distant relative.
Safety on roads is of crucial importance as one wrong step can cause disastrous accidents therefore one needs to wear helmet, abide by the traffic rules and fasten their seatbelts while on road. Growing children are equally vulnerable to cyber crimes and online frauds. The only solution to this is reducing screen time and active participation in yoga, games and sports to maintain a healthy mind and body. The session concluded with an interactive question answer session where the students were provided convincible answers by the guest speaker Sangeeta.
The Principal, Dr. A.S. Gangwar thanked the speaker and expressed his deep gratitude towards her for sensitizing the tender minds about their personal safety and self defense techniques. He insisted, “The 21st century has not only unleashed innumerable opportunities but has also let loose the hideous threats that can drag innocence into the quick sand of social malice. It is the collective responsibility of parents, teachers and every individual associated with children to protect them from any kind of harshness that can leave an indelible imprint on their mind.”
