And the avalanche that should have killed him actually saved his life.

Dawa Sherpa had already been missing for days when he fell into an approximately 8-meter-deep crevasse in the Khumbu Icefall.

The walls were too smooth to climb.

He had only a few biscuits, chocolates and ice.

For three days, he waited in the darkness, believing he might die there.

A vulture suddenly dives into the ocean.

Scientists in Equatorial Guinea documented African palm-nut vultures repeatedly diving toward the sea surface and capturing live prey measuring roughly 20–30 centimeters long.

The behavior was so unexpected because palm-nut vultures are not normally thought of as open-ocean hunters.

Their hunting style actually looked remarkably similar to an osprey.
