BGVS is an institution engaged in the welfare of the society. Since 2007, when it started its journey, it has been steadfastly continuing its progress towards the attainment of its objectives and aims through many welfare activities for the people. A fundamental problem of our country is poverty, which is manifest in the rank opportunism, self-serving attitude and violence prevailing in our societ
y. This has resulted in extreme despondence and aimless distraction among the youth. In the midst of these adverse circumstances BGVS has set its ideal to disseminate the concept of the Sanskrit word “Rajarshi” (a saintly king) which embodies the prosperity of a King and the benevolence of a Saint. BGVS is determined to propagate this concept among the youth of the present and future generation. To fulfill this dream BGVS has chosen the course of education. It first started with coaching classes, followed by offering free or nearly free education to the poor students, including free distribution of books. We observed that though many student obtaining good marks in qualifying exams, this achievement become useless in the wake of grinding poverty. To sort out this problem of poverty we started proving training and assistance for appearing in Government and Non-Government jobs. From 2 students in 2009 now it has grown to 500 students and in terms of percentage calculation we are at the top of the list of such institutes in West Bengal. In spite of sorting out the financial problem of the students we are appalled to see a growing sense of disenchantment, greed, envy and selfishness among the successful students. Therefore today we have set the dream of “Knowledge Village” –which will blend the job-oriented training and the character building exercise into one. There will be opportunities ranging from primary education to University education. Though the state provides a range of scholarships to the successful students of 10th or 10+2 standard, without proper primary education it is impossible to achieve these facilities. There is no concrete set up that answers both these problems –the English medium schools are providing good alternative but it can only be affordable by rich. The poor students are chanceless. Keeping this in mind BGVS has chalked out its first step –“Knowledge Provat” -a primary school with unique system of learning. With a limited and practicable syllabus, the pass marks will be 80%instead of 30% -which allows ignorance to be more than double the volume of knowledge. This proposed syllabus will include the biography of the great me –which will induce confidence, patriotism and help set big dreams. Work education training will be made mandatory–it will inculcate self-reliance. Tree plantation and their nursing class will be held every week– which will teach accountability and responsibility and social awareness. Each student will be encouraged to follow the subject or stream that he has aptitude for.
