Faculty Participation in Career Fair at Varanasi

Dr. Anand kumar Soni and Mr. Satkar Tripathi, faculty members of the Department of Language and Literature, School of Liberal Studies, KIIT, participated in a prominent Career Fair organised by the Sunbeam Group of Educational Institutions in Varanasi on 22nd September,2026. The event brought together representatives from several leading universities and Higher-education institutions from India and abroad.
The programme continued throughout the day, with each participating school being assigned a specific time slot to visit the Career Fair. Students from the participating schools attended the event in scheduled batches, ensuring an organised and continuous interaction between the students and representatives of various universities.
Representing KIIT, and particularly the School of Liberal Studies, Dr. Anand and Mr. Satkar interacted with students, parents, and other participants, providing detailed information about the academic programmes, opportunities, and distinctive features of the School of Liberal Studies and KIIT.
The Career Fair witnessed an impressive participation of more than 3,000 students. The faculty members actively counselled and guided students regarding various academic and career opportunities available at KIIT, addressing their queries and helping them understand the range of programmes offered by the School of Liberal Studies.
The participation provided an excellent platform for strengthening KIITโ€™s outreach and engaging with prospective students from Varanasi and the surrounding region.

A 3-member delegation from Embassy of France - Institut Franรงais India(IFI) visited KIIT on 19th September, 2026 and discussed on strategic collaboration with the University leadership to host the Universitรฉ Pรฉdagogique Rรฉgionale, an annual International Capacity Building Programme for French language educators. The proposed week-long faculty development programme (FDP) to be jointly conducted by IFI & KIIT scheduled from 24-28 May, 2027 aims to train approximately 150 teachers from India and neighboring countries, featuring expert resource persons from India and France. The delegation identified the FDP venue and sought information about the event logistics after the campus tour.

The meeting with the IFI representative was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Honโ€™ble Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU and Prof. (Dr.) Debashis Bandyopadhyay, Pro-Vice Chancellor KIIT- DU. Delegations from Institut Franรงais India (IFI) comprised of Ms. Stรฉphanie Orfila, Attachรฉe for Cooperation in Education, Ms. Julia Martin-Legros, Attachรฉ for Cooperation in French Language โ€“ East India and Mr. Jatinder Singh, Deputy Head, Cooperation in Language & Education.
Objectives of the proposed FDP is to enhance the pedagogical skills and teaching methodologies of French language educators across the region along with promoting academic and cultural exchange between participating entities. The International Capacity Building Programme will involve specialised workshops, seminars, and training sessions led by subject matter experts from India and France. The FDP will provide a centralised platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing among international participants.

The meeting is also attended by Mr.Sameer Kumar Das, Associate Dean and Dr. Nisha Tiwari, Assistant Professor (French) from the Department of Language & Literature along with Dr. Samuel Rout, Deputy Director, International Relations Office (IRO) of the KIIT University. The Department of Language & Literature, School of Liberal Studies has initiated and facilitated the engagement of the Institut Franรงais India with the leadership of KIIT for collaboration to organize Universitรฉ Pรฉdagogique Rรฉgionale.

The School of Liberal Studies, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University, proudly congratulates its students for successfully clearing the UGC NET Examination 2026.

Academic Visit to the District Judicial Court Complex by Department of Sociology , KSLS KIIT DU

The Department of Sociology organised an academic visit to the District Judicial Court Complex for its BA and MA Sociology students. As part of this experiential learning initiative, students visited the Family Court and Sessions Court and observed court trials and judicial proceedings. The visit provided students with a deeper understanding of the functioning of the judicial system, the procedural stages involved in filing and processing a case, and the institutional mechanisms through which cases proceed within the court system. The experience enriched studentsโ€™ sociological understanding of law, justice, family, and social institutions through direct engagement with judicial processes.

An awareness session on โ€œAlcohol Abuse: A Psychological Approach to Prevention, Support, Treatment and Recoveryโ€ was conducted for the Force Personnel on 2nd September, 2026 at CISF Unit ASG Bhubaneswar. Session was conducted by Dr Soma Parija, Assistant Professor and Program Head, Department of Psychology. The programme focused on understanding alcohol-related problems from a psychological perspective while emphasising safety, early intervention and compassionate support. The programme reinforced the importance of early identification, professional treatment and sustained support in recovery. The session concluded with the message that seeking help is an act of responsibility and courage, and that creating a supportive environment can protect the individual, the organisation and the wider community.
