Greetings, Astrophiles!
It’s Pride Month! We're excited to bring back our Pride Profiles series, a celebration of the incredible contributions of LGBTQ+ individuals in the astronomy and the astrophysics community. Join us all month long as we highlight their stories, work, and impact on the field.
For the first post of the series, we’re honoring Dr. Sally Ride, who was an American astronaut, physicist, and the first American woman in space. She was privately in a same-sex relationship for 27 years, making her the first known LGBTQ+ astronaut.

Farewell to a Cosmic Luminary
We mourn the loss of Prof. Jayant Narlikar — a brilliant astrophysicist, visionary thinker, and an inspiration to generations of scientists. From pioneering work in cosmology to founding IUCAA, his legacy will continue to guide those who look up and wonder.
Your ideas expanded our universe.
Rest in peace, sir.

Greetings, Astrophiles!
With the semester winding down and exams (finally) behind us, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the cosmic journey we’ve shared. From thought-provoking student talks to an inspiring session with our alumni, we explored ideas, shared stories, and looked deeper into the universe. We celebrated Space Day with enthusiasm, hosted Huntng the Heavens during Singularity, and dived into astrophotography and celestial wonders through hands-on workshops and sessions. Whether learning the basics at IBAC 101, capturing the night sky, or observing the Sun in action, your presence made each event memorable.
A heartfelt thank you to all our members and the IISERB community for your constant support and curiosity—you’re what makes this club shine.
