On July 5th, 1687, Isaac Newton's masterpiece, Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica (whew, that's a mouthful!), hit the shelves. This wasn't just another book; it was a game-changer!
Imagine a world without our understanding of gravity. No rockets soaring into the cosmos. No bridges defying gravity. Principia laid the foundation for classical mechanics, forever shaping our understanding of the universe's motion. 🪐

But here's the fascinating part: the book almost never saw the light of day! Newton, a brilliant but private guy, was hesitant to share his work. Thankfully, astronomer Edmond Halley stepped in. Recognizing the genius in Newton's ideas, Halley convinced and even funded the publication.
